The speed is very fast for me. I like simulation games to go slow so we have more time to make decisions and enjoy it slowly. My plan was to stay on 1000 people for a while and so on (to actually get to know my people more and manage thrm well before INVITING more people) but within an hour my city had more than 2000 people cuz it keeps increasing the residential demands and if you don't fill them up the industries complain that they have no workers.

Yes it looks like the normal speed is missing or the speed button is bugged. All the people and vehicles animations are accelerated even in the slowest speed setting. For this reason the game is pretty much unplayable for me at the moment, there's no joy of watching the city in close zoom when the cims are running around like a spooked cockroaches.

Anyone else would like to have half-speed of slowest speed there is? I mean even at slowest speed people move like The Flash!

That's what i wondered about too, a "half-speed button" would be very nice. It's hard to catch cars and citizens in 1xSpeed mode with the mouse :)

hey guys,
I'm the author of that mod and I indeed plan to make a slider it will be patched in a few hours most likely.
I'm also looking in to modifying speed of certain things like car movement etc instead of slowing down the entire game.
When I found this solution I'll be adding a config to tweak each section so you can for example set cars at 10% and citizens at 200%.
But the API is quite limited currently so I'm not sure yet if this can be done.

Here a link to the mod for anyone who haven't found it: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=406354745&searchtext=

Being able to observe the city life at a more "realistic" speed would be nice. Another thing I've noticed is that pedestrians have too high a velocity. Only measuring by eye, it seems that they walk at about a speed of 15-20, while the speed limit for normal road is 40 (gravel road is 30). Not a huge issue for me, but in those moments when I just want to inspect my city on a more detailed level it does look a bit weird :p

I want real time and nothing else. 24/7 time. The other speeds can stay for the people actually enjoy it, which is a total mystery to me. If I wanted an ant farm I would build me one. You could attach that to the system´s clock so it would have always the same time as you at home. Oh wait... no night. Yeah, maybe fix that first and then give me my real time experience.

PS: Doesn´t that mod slow down the camera as well? That would suck.

Yeah, I use that Slow Speed mod and absolutely love it! I was getting out of breath just watching the cars and people zip about the city before that. I found overall the pace of the game to be too fast for my play style so I also got a slower aging mod that I love to bits.

It could be because I'm running this on an ultrabook and I like to build quickly, but I'd actually like speed 3 to be faster! I usually leave the game on for nice chunks of time while doing something else to get the tiles to fill up.

As for the automata, I'm working on a 1:1 scale map of a real location and they seem to travel at around the same rate it takes me to traverse the same city in real time.
