I have a question for everyone:

Do any of you experience the game getting slower as the game years go on. It is especially noticeable for me when I declare war after I revoked the privileges (HRE vassal swarm), so I guess it has to do with AI movement.

I found a video by Siu-king who tried figure out what caused the slow down in his game, and it seems to be the same kind of problem:

What I recently found is that not conquering the world leads to horrible late-game lag. Any time a bunch of GPs end up in global wars against each other the game slows to a crawl. If you've mostly conquered the world, on the other hand, you are the only major left and so there is a lot less work for the AI to do which means fewer calculations. It was really striking because I've never really played past 1740 or so before other than to finish off WCs.

Yes someone tested 1.24 and come to the conclusion that it took like 30% longer to play a game to the enddate then earlier versions.

Currently there is a different AI for small OPMs in HRE and I think the game probably need a different AI for large empires that have interests on many continents. That AI could then be split into severals thread one for overall diplomacy and deciding how to split resources between army groups. Then each continent has its own army group (and thread) that handles the regiments under that army groups command.

Even compared to 1.23 ?

Could be, because the patch notes of 1.24 mention AI performance increase. Something could've gone wrong there.

Large scale AI wars seems to be causing some decreased performance, especially if you stackwipe the AI so they have to rebuild their armies with dozens of single unit stacks. I don't think it's really new in 1.23 or 1.24, but the AI is splitting up armies more, so it can probably become noticeable more often.

I've put this in his video as well to see if he can try or other try it as it a recent thing in windows I noticed and the game been single core. To see if this help anyone on windows 10 OS which I imagine quite a few people are on and playing it.

"One thing that may help is that Windows 10 introduces a lovely thing that underclocks the CPU in the power option by default on PC that are plugged in to mains it is alright for laptops to help with battery life, Maybe if that is enabled for you disable it or put it to 100% as will not give you the full power of your processor to that one core as windows is only detecting 25% used as such will not increase the clock speed to the default one of the CPU. I've had to do this with some games that just use one core and seen improvements.

Location if you want it control Panel > hardware and sound < Power options > Edit plan settings
Hit change advanced power settings then find Processor power management and expand minimum processor state enter in the % you want it to sit at by default. Mine is at 100% if games could use mult core I would reduce it but they can't ."
