Game shuts down my laptop

It happens not that often, but sometimes i find the computer shuting down suddenly; it happens, as I said, sometimes with EUII, but often with another game (warlords IV).
What can it be? Just battery or heating or what?

Overheating is a possibility. Does it only happen after playing for quite a while? Does your laptop/OS have a temperature monitor available?

with EUII and CK, yes it happens after a while, but with other games (I checked), it happens quickly (Disciples II too, which in the past run well). Sadly I don't have a way to check temperature...
i can guess, however, that is a problem of battery/energy, since the message box on toolbar is always wrong (it says that computer is wired when it's not, and opposite), so i have to contact the producer.

Is is shutting down or actually rebooting? Spontaneous reboot can be caused by a Windows "blue screen" crash in Win2k and probably XP; they seem to have a default setting to reboot automatically on a severe crash. I have these on occasion with other games (3D FPS games on laptop). Haven't found the cause yet but it becomes much more frequent when I upgrade my RAM from 256MB to 1GB.

Well since it is happening with multiple apps, and he is taking it to the manufactor, I think we will let them deal with it.
