Game says save has been modified and will not give achievements, but I have not done anything with it, nor am I using mods. Is it because my saves are stored locally?

I know it has been said elsewhere, but could you please change the every month autosave? I have a decent notebook, but monthly "gold lag" and monthly autosave lag is too much. Not every country is France of Portugal, sometimes you have pretty boring periods and you need to speed up 10 years before you can do something decent.

That's not what it says. It says the user has changed or the game files have been modified. They haven't. Maybe this is what's happening and you need to use Ironman for it to work.

Yep, not using ironman and it is not the achievements that bother me, but that the text is clearly wrong.
I have that issue also. But if you try to save the save in the cloud, then load and wait a few moments before to press the play button you'll get the message achivements enabled.

I had the same problem for two different countries, but not for others. I got pissed and would start another game and save over the other one, and could access that save without problems. Like the others, I was not playing ironman.
Guys, its a wrong text, it has been discussed in other threads, the message is wrong, it just basically tell you that your achievement isnt working since you are not in ironman mode.
not a big deal, wont bother your gameplay, if you want it gone, just turn on ironman mode.
on the other hand, if you still got the message when you are on ironman mode then the devs really have to pay attention to them.

Thanks for the info. I guess it shouldn't show at all, bur if it's not going to affect anything, I'll just ignore it.
