Hello ,

it's been 2 days since new patch went out and i was wondering if it is playable now ? i didn't have any chance to try it since the new patch but the bug section is full of new/old bugs , was someone actually able to get to more then 50-100 turns ?

Got to turn 130, 8 Players Disc (i think...) map. So yes, playable, and if your not a whining type of person, you will even enjoy it! On the other hand, haven't got the occasion to test the hivers yet.

cheers for the replies ,

tbh i enjoyed it in the previous patch as well , i just end up to around turn 200 and couldn't continue due to a bug that i couldn't get around. are starbases fixed now , that was my prob last time i had done some upgrades and there was an unavoidable battle in a system , where it just crashed every time i am to enter the battle.

yea turn times are super improved as the transitions between all screens its actualy goin preaty well and game is crusing well to bad we cant use armor atm on the ships due to it crashing the game when u try to build a ship with it.

happy with this patch and the game is starting to come along well :D .

Managed 230 turns as Morri, but you cant upgrade drones on a drone carrier (why not?!?), system defenses (platforms, SDBs) needs a lot of tutorial to understand, still a lot of crashes. Almost playable is what Id say.

3 real important things are still missing before i will retry it.

1) upgradable ships. With Prototypes beeing 10 times expensive as normal production its just insanse to not have put this option in. as it hasnt been included in sots1 neither i doubt it will ever come, at least not before 6months
2) space stations cant shoot...
3) not a single armor tech is working

1) It's been announced by Mecron that they will include an option to upgrade parts of your ships, but only to something better in the same category, like if you have turrets with green lasers you'll be able to only upgrade them to turrets with a better version of the laser.
2) Don't know about this
3) Armor's after todays hotfix are working as intended.

Over the next 2 weeks you will see the espionage system, independent worlds and psionics finally make their appearance along with a whole ton of odds and ends. At then end of that process comes final passes on the mission and combat systems, getting the last glitches out of each racial movement style and putting the AI's feet back on the firm ground."

Reads like nothing really important is running still... No word about the silly space stations...

2) related to armor: you can add armor now, right. but why does for example Poly-armor have no effect on ships stats? shouldnt it bolster armor?

It does have an effect on the armour panels, it just isn't reflected in the design screen stat display.

Game is definately very playable now, only mildly annoying or balance related things seem to be a problem at the moment. The weapons on space stations is one, but given that only naval bases suffer from this, and that since they were never intended to be all that great at combat, its something I can gloss over. Hiver movement remains a pain.
