Could we have a quick recap of who else was able to reproduce this "fix" ? Will definitely try this when I am back home (if i find a save with huge galaxy - end game).
Did just log in via steam without Pdx acc and loaded a late game save. Shooth as a babys bottom. Did stop playing because the game was going so slow and stuttery(?). Now I can enjoy the late game again thanks to the awesome community and some paticular smart people who did not rest until they find the issue. You rock <3

Tried it, over steam, whilst deactivating the Paradox Sign in. Lategame speed increased to ~2x.

Consider me amazed.
How does one deactivate the Paradox sign in?

I haven't tried it yet, but if so many people are confirming it helps, you may have solved the biggest issue for many players.

You can still get achievements logged out of the Paradox account right?

I can confirm that logging out of PDX from the game launcher has decreased end game lag.

I even loaded up a game i had that takes place in the year 2550, 1000 star map and its quiet significant.

There is still stuttering but i bet its nearly cut in half from when i previously played while logged in

This did not work for me. I tried everything in this thread. I still have lag when I start exploring day 1. It stutters like crazy and it's giving me headaches playing through it/trying to find a fix. Does anyone have any other tips..?

No difference between Paradox Log-In or Steam itself.

Even without internet connection, 1,000 Star map wtih 15 AI experience radical slowdown after 50-75 years of play.

Perhaps a conflict with monitoring software? I did experience absurd lags in EUIV due to separate anti-cheat software.

Hah, it was that simple? I've never logged in to my paradox account through stellaris before, but now that I do, yup, there's the stuttering everyone is complaining about right there.

Loading up a huge galaxy, I can't even scroll around the galaxy map while paused without stuttering. Log out of the account, reload the same save, and it's nice and smooth again.

It hits startup times too. I get 43 seconds from clicking play to the main menu becoming responsive after logging into my account, compared to 26 without. (Or with the patch, 18 seconds after logging into my account, and 9 seconds without.)

Edit: I can also confirm that I don't get stuttering or extended loading times if I launch without steam, even while logged in to my paradox account, so it seems to be the combination of launching through steam and being logged in to the paradox account that causes the problem. Either one on its own is fine.

Big find if true, will test later, but keep in mind that when a computer first looks up a resource, it pulls it from storage and puts it into memory. That means the first time you consecutively load anything will be the slowest, since subsequent times it will already be in mem.

Can't confirm.

The game was exactly as slow in the year 2400, regardless of me being logged in into Steam and the launcher, just steam, just the launcher, or neither.

This, unfortunately.

Though I did make one observation recently:

I started up a game on the biggest possible map and played for several hours on max speed, no slowdown, but when I saved and quit, then loaded the next day, the game only ran at half speed from that point on.

Unable to confirm that it runs better or not ingame, but when trying to start up the game proper from the disk, it takes an eternity. However, I do have a lot of mods, so that might be it. Launcher works fine tho.

Edit: Deduced it is most likely due to a lot of uncompressed mod folders being loaded, some significantly large.
