I've been playing CK II for some time with no problem, but in the last few days my game has often been crashing after about 15-20 minutes of play. Sometimes I'll be able to play for a couple of hours without a problem, but others it really is about every 10 minutes and the game crashes. Does anyone have any idea why it might have just started this?

In Steam right-click on CK2 and choose Properties. Hit the Beta tab and select the latest beta 2.2.1.1 from the list there - there are several crash fixes in it.

Hey! Just wanted to say that I have and did opt into the beta and though it worked at first it has resumed kicking me out again. So the beta did help temporarily it didn't fix the problem.
Then you no doubt have different problems. Please try a full clean re-install:
- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-CK2
- opt into the 2.2.1.1 beta in the Steam beta tab
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
If that doesn't help, each start your own fresh threads with full problem and system details, thanks.
