Ideas for Kingdom (and Empire) CoAs"

Westeros: A 7-pointed star (yes, weird if the person isn't a follower of the Seven, but then the Emirate of Jerusalem still has a cross in vanilla)
The North: a wierwood
The Riverlands: a trident on a field split by "water"
The Westerlands: mountains, maybe?
The Vale of Arryn: here I feel using the CoA of the Arryn family is appropriate with a slight modification. I mean, the Vale of Arryn
The Crownlands: a crown! Or possibly the Iron Throne
The Iron Islands: a long boat on water
The Stormlands: a storm cloud on green
The Reach: a green hand on silver for House Gardener
Dorne: some representation of the Rhoyne?

Nice. I but i would chang some things. For the Iron Islands i would take the specially crown of this region. Don't remember what was the name.
Dorne, should be a Snake (specially Viper), which would be different to a Spear of the House of Martell.

It doesnt start in full until the North has seceded though.
Oh, and what about the ages of characters? Robb was leading armies at 14, Jaime was Kingsguard at 15, Dany was pregnant at 13. But the game limits characters alot until they are 16.

That's piss easy to do. In defines.txt(iirc) in the common folder just change the age of adulthood to 12/13. There are a few things you can change as well, like what age they can get tutored and the start/end date.

Problem with that. The age of proper inheritence (no regency) is 16. By changing that you'd be making Joffrey the regent-less King at 13, one year after his inheritence.

Anyway, with Coats of Arms. I think that the North should have a white and red heartree on sable field, the Iron Throne should probably be a dark-grey, "spiky" chair with the field split diagonal between red and purple, trimmed with gold. The Riverlands should be, as said, a Trident on blue and red-brown field split horizontal. The Westerlands, a white mountain on sable field. Same as Minchandre on the Vale of Arryn. The Crownlands... eh... maybe a white-gold crown on watery-blue field? For the Iron Islands, I like the idea of a longboat, but I was thinking of a grey chair on grey and deep-blue field split horizontal (deep-blue sea, fog-shrouded horizon).

That's all I can think of at the moment. Someone with more experience in Coat of Arms should think up the concepts for these, there are special rules regarding them which G. R. R. M. followed himself, and if we don't follow them... well, it'll look weird.

Just wondering, not wanting to sound impatient, but is there any sort of time estimate for how long before the mod will be ready? I really loved the Grell mod for CK1 so I can't wait to play a Game of Thrones mod on CK2. I would offer to help but I've never modded anything before so I'm not really sure how it works...

Hahaha, I guess we should be happy that people keep wanting time estimates, it shows that there's demand for the mod :D

Honestly, though, it'll be a few weeks until we even get the first Alpha out. And that won't really feel like GoT; more like medieval Europe with the names changed.

Which is good enough in my book, medieval Europe can only keep one's interest for so long :)

I would suggest creating a new thread, by the way, created by whatever you have that is close to a team leader. The person who made this thread has gone AWOL and it'd help for newcomers if the mod's status was in the OP, don't you think?

Whatsup bro... thread-starter reporting...

About the Bastard/Divested thing: Could you rename Bastard to Divested enterily, then create a new Bastard trait that allows changing naming and invokes the Divested trait at the same time (i.e. a person with the Bastard trait also gets the Divested).

Another option for Kingsguard: Supposedly, buildings are fully moddable. You'd have to create a new "White Sword Tower" building with the same characteristic churches have that prevent inheritance. In the vanilla game, there are events to send your children to the churches under a bishop liege (the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard in this case) which prevent them from getting titles, they'd also get this Divested trait I talked about earlier.

For Maesters there would be something similar, a "The Citadel" building in Oldtown with the same characteristic churches have that prevent inheritance. Characterssent there (through event or desicion) have a chance of gaining the Divested and Maester traits. And each court could have a poosition that can only be filled by someone with the Maester trait.

*spoilers*
For the CoA of regions, I see nothing wrong with using the same as the Great Houses. In ADWD, Bolton's claim to the north was supposed to be confirmed by marrying the blood of Winterfell. House Capet's CoA is the same as France CoA's in vanilla CK2, it's the same here.

Amazing amount of work and thought in this thread, I am sure the resulting mod will be great and I am definitely looking forward to it, good luck guys!

Are you that guy from Werewolf...? The one who got obvious wolf-tells nicknamed "Crovaxes" after him?

Er, on-topic: I'm actually not too sure about how great this mod will be. How long are you going to set the game to last? Because playing for 5 years wouldn't be much fun, are you going to set the game to last 200, 300 years? And if so, how do you know that gunpowder, etc wouldn't be invented during that time frame? It's pretty late in the "Medieval" Age, comparative to our time line, that we enter the story, isn't it?
