Game no longer working

Not sure if it's the recent hot-fix or what, but my Crusader Kings 2 is now crashing when it gets to "loading graphics." I've verified integrity of game files on steam, which found nothing wrong, and then tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Still crashing during "loading graphics," whether I try to continue from my last save, or just click play on the lower right, from the main menu.

The game seems to be unplayable at this time. Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue?

Tried to sync games, as it turns out I had a account already. Problem as above still stands.

Yes, it is the recent patch that did this. Here is a couple of things I recommend trying:

1. Set override_resolution_safety = yes in settings.txt in the CK2 folder under My Documents/Paradox
2. Disable fullscreen optimizations
3. Turn off anti-virus completely.

Leave the anti-virus software off the first time you launch the new version of CK2. Let CK2 book all the way up, load a save or start a new game, then quit.

You can then turn your antivirus back on and CK2 should work fine. The first time it launches after a flags or portraits update, it needs to initialize some folders and the antivirus thinks this is malicious and kills CK2.
