Gosh the manual is something of a let down. Perhaps this is treatise for future FAQS. Here are my simple questions:
1) Will/Can advisors manage my transport for me? I really hate to even concern myself with the setting up of transport convoy routes. I can't picture hitler with a map sitting there in between all the other things to do, actually doing the logistics to move around some raw materials. (if not, perhaps in patch? Let players do it if they want to really be good, but obviously the computer AI handles their own and if its not FUN it shouldn't be required. We play with our paper soldiers to fight wars as a majority, some of us like micromanaging and some do not).
2) As germany in 1936, what is a REASONABLE number of provinces to improve at any one time? Same quesiton of military units and research projects to pick. I was sitting there wondering if the advisors would pick for me, they didn't, so I picked three research projects in the queue, and 9 ground units. I also upgraded EVERY province's Industry or Infrastucture. I wasn't sure what that would do.
Would be great if there are options to let advisors manage these aspects and then override as you see fit.
3) There is a lock button for the slider bars on spending, but it seemed day to day the requirement went up and down. Is there any way to leave this job with advisor, and hope they try to balance it? Obviously they would favor their bent (the goods, the medicine, the research or the military)
I mean I like tweaking it, but I am concerned I will forget about it and it will get out of hand.
4) Reinforcing a unit, doesn't that automatically happen? Do I really have to remember to always do that? and how long does it take to get back to full strength usually? I had some that didn't go back to full strength and others that did.
5) where are your DI's located?
6) If I have three armies, and they all enter a province to fight a battle, will all three generals apply their skill/bonus? or just highest rank? It seemed like perhaps only the highest general during the battle, not the entire staff. What is the deal with that?
7) If a general breaks often from battle, will he develop disloyalty or hidden traits of cowardice like total war medieval?
8) This game rocks, can you MARRY the people who created Total War: Medieval, so that your children will indeed roam the earth creating all that is cool in computer strategy games? (hah) Also every now and then invite over the bullfrog people for Imperialism II.
I think this is it for now.
I wish there was more 'butter' options in the game, so that you can totally get focused on creating international highways, or socialist programs, and other public works, that would cause you to remain isolationist.
