Game Load problem

I have a problem... currently playing a game with the Khazars (OG start). It's about 1020 in game time. Non-ironman, all patches are up to date, using Horse Lords.

When I load the game, everything is wrong. I have 0 population, 0 manpower and I can't gain anymore. There are also no clans - only mine, but with no portrait and we're called "clan lowborn".

All my autosaves have the same problem.

I had the same problem two sessions ago, well I went back and played an old save which seemed to be unaffected. But seriously, I'm not going to go back and replay everything every single time!

I've tried verifying game catche on steam, doesn't help

This isn't the first time I've had such an issue either - my last game, a Jutland-Denmark-Scandanavia game, had a problem too - though in that case the problem was that the game was giving me something like +93423342 gold, prestige and piety per month.

If I can't solve this issue I will have to leave CK2, at least for now, I don't want to invest time and effort into games only to see them break each time

Seems you tried to play a game started before 2.4 in 2.4x, even though that would be incompatible.

You can switch game patches/versions, but save files won't necessarily be compatible.
Keep that in mind. Also uncheck newer DLCs on older versions.

When did 2.4x come out? I didn't start this game so long ago and it was working fine up until about 5 days ago. I believe my aforementioned Viking game problem was caused by patch updates, but I don't believe a new patch or update has come out since I started this Khazar game (unless I missed it).

err...sometime in july.
The Jutland game is definitely such case. Crazy piety, prestige, money stats were the most outstanding symptoms
of incompatible games started before 2.4.

We are now on 2.4.4, but i can't recall reports about incompatibility, only about ironman games easily corrupting,
but you said it's a non-ironman, so i have no other idea.....except if you use an outdated mod.

No, I'm not using any mods.

Does anyone have any idea how I could salvage this game? It was a really good one too... I'd got a bit OP building a huge Khazar horde empire whilst beating up (the still huge) Abbasids. Plan was to grow really big by eating most of the middle east and egypt then settle and form the kingdom of Israel for a new challenge... seems like my dream is gone now
