I do not have the game yet, but even EU III is super easy without Magna Mundi we just have to learn the game and wait for a Magna Mundi type mod to be realised.
What I do find critical is that when the UK declared war on me, once they had done that, they merely attacked with a weak force from Canada, and sent little blockade fleets, which I was able to hunt down and destroy with ease. Far too easy - they never tried supporting their ships or challenging my main navies.
If you want a challange, you should try playing Denmark.
The economy is going down the sink, and there is litteraly no soldier population what so ever![]()
Your major exports are outbidded by other countries, mostly because all Denmark has is food-wares such as grain and cattle![]()
However, based on the demo, the AI seems to always put all their troops in 1-2 mega stacks, which essentially forces you to do the same. I dont know if this is very realistic... I guess it might be early on, but it would at least need to change in the late game... does it?![]()
Is there even any difficulty modificators like hoi3 has? Atleast I didin't see any of such things in Demo. What about manual, will there be such thing, demo didint have manual.
And why can't you save the game in the Demo??
So you'd have a reason to buy the game?
Because they didn't see the value. Unlike P'dox players who have all the data (and history) set before them. Which is the fundamental problem with demanding historic expansion - the AI has to be as smart (or as close as) the human player. If France doesn't start colonising until 1860s then you can be pretty sure that they'll find North Africa fully occupied by a human Spain/Italy/Ottomans. So the AI, like the player, has to know the strategic value of colonies in 1836In real history Spain and Portugal only seriously considered imperialist expansion in North Africa in the late 19th century
After playing through 30 years as Austria, I have to agree that the game needs to be made more challenging, both through balancing and the addition of difficulty modifiers. Yes, Austria is already a blob but the fact is that I was able to just pick the game up and start playing it without any problems and without running the country into the dirt either. The learning curve didn't seem to be as steep as for, say, HOI3, and the game seemed to be much more forgiving of mistakes.
One specific gripe I have is that the POP assimilation rate seems too fast. I shouldn't have a South German majority by 1860. It makes the game too easy - managing a multiethnic empire should be challenging. Nor is it how people actually behave. Is there any way to mod this?
