So, I bought this game last week at full price, and never regret it, it is a wonderful experience and possibly the most accurate simulation of roman history. However, past the very few challanging hours of understanding all the stats and mechanics, the game become a chore and it is super easy to steamroll everyone and paint the map in red. I never feel threatened by anything. no one dares to declare war on me.
Where is Tarentum attacking Rome and later calling Pyrrus for aid? Where are the massive hordes of Cimbri and Teutoni trashing my armies? Where are the massive slave revolts? Where is Capua betraying me and siding with the Cartaginians? Where are the Socii attacking me because they do not get full Roman citizenship status?
I hope for future update Paradox will consider making the game more challenging rather refning already existent mechanics. And I am completly new to grand strategy games (bought CK3 last year because IGN gave it a 10/10, later HOI 4), I think vetarans of this genre will find the game even easier. Mechanics are no good if the game is boring because it does not provide a challenge.
Do you agree with me? Should Paradox concentrate on making the game more difficult?
