Game froze and then close

I just ran the game once, but didn't play. But, when I ran the game for the second time on Steam, when I choose my nation and click "Play", the game froze before start, and then close the window. I tried to reinstall, but didn't work. My computer is inside the recommended settings for the game, so I don't know what is. I have the complete version of the game, but I turned off a few DLCs. If someone know what is, please help.

Uninstall the game again, but this time manually delete the whole of the documents/paradox/eu4 folder as well, then reinstall from Steam. After the install, run a Steam Verify to confirm it's all in place before running.

Please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the end of the "Sound devices" section for brevity) and your Documents/EU4/settings.txt. From your Documents/Paradox/EU4/logs/ directory, post system.log . Open setup.log in notepad and search for 'checksum', post that line only here too please.

This will never work .. edit that to say AT LEAST 1024x768. Also make refreshRate=60 .

Intel 4000 graphics technically doesn't meet the recommended settings but other people are certainly using it so you should be able to.
Also note your graphics driver is rather old. I believe this is the latest:

If you just tried the .exe from that site, Samsung may be preventing you form using the Intel-provided driver. Try the .zip version instead:

Windows has no idea about what the most recent driver is, forget that. The one we linked is September 2014, and the one you have is January 2013 - not the latest at all.

If you don't get that dialog then something is wrong.

It just allow me to choose folders, not files. When I choose the folder where I extracted the files, it just say "Windows determided that the driver software is already installed: Intel (R) HD Graphics 400", and the "close" button

OK then. Get both those driver downloads from Intel and place them someone you will be able to find. Also get Samsung's video driver download (presumably the Jan 2013 one you already have, but newer if they have one) for this machine. Then manually uninstall the Intel video driver, and reboot the machine. It will come up with the default Microsoft video driver. Then try installing that Intel .exe driver, if that fails the .zip as described above, if still no good then the Samsung ones so at least you have an Intel driver installed.

Yes, sometimes the system manufacturer's driver gives a non-standard name to the device so the generic driver doesn't recognize it.

Damn. OK, well there's something else wrong in your machine or Windows then, it's hard to see what though.

In Steam-eu4-properties-local files, click on Browse Local Files. You'll see EU4.exe, right click on that and choose Properties, Compatibility tab, and set it to run as the Admin user, uncheck anything else in there.

Now switch back to Steam and exit it, and double-click on eu4.exe to run it manually. Any different? Any new errors?
