game freezes at certain date

My game does not make it over the 20.05.498 auc.
I tried older saves but, still that day is deadline. Any clue what can be?
I play 1,3 vanilla and do not have VV.

2)
Is there any possibility where I can change this dismal research behaviour of the Romans by altering data?

Same issue here. I am playing 2.3.2 though. I randomly get to a certain date and the game freezes. it does not crash, but I have to bring up the task manager and manually force close it. Then everytime I reload it does the same thing on the same date. I sometimes can load an earlier save and it will get past that date but then will start doing it again later. Using the same save such as the auto save does not fix it. It will always do it over and over if I use the last save, and I sometimes have to go back several saves to get it to get past that date.

As you have VV and the OP does not, it's not going to be the same problem. Did you see the sticky threads on issues like this?
