I know there have been thousands of posts addressing similar issue, I've read a lot of them and already tried most solutions: I redownloaded my drivers, added eu4 to my windows defender (and malwarebytes) list of exceptions, clean installed the game after deleting every folder imaginable, deleted all mods and files, tried to start the game in windowed mode ecc. Yet every time i press play on the launcher, the game loads just fine and then, as soon as it gets to the title screen, freezes to a black screen while the game music is still playing in the background. The game apparently works if I run it directly from the exe file, however that leads to me not being able to play any of the dlcs. It used to work just fine until 1.34.5 when this issue started. Attached are all the files support usually asks for. Idk what else to do and I'd be glad to be able to play the game again

Right click on eu4.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.

Edit that settings.txt to say:
graphics={
size={
x=1920
y=1080
}

fullScreen=yes

vsync=no
No need for any other changes in it.

Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode.

Is that any better?

No, unfortunately that doesn't solve the issue

Can I get new copies of all those files please, plus error.log

For what it's worth, I tried running other paradox games and they work perfectly, this issue only occurs with eu4

Edit: Tried unchecking all dlcs on steam and then deleting the files directly from the folder, unfortunately that didn't change anything

Specifically CK2 and HOI4? Those are the ones you have which are most like EU4, especially CK2. I see some hangs in hoi4.exe in that dxdiag.

Running eu4.exe uses the settings, in that settings.txt file; do the ones in the new pdx_settings.txt match those?

Check for an update to that AMD video driver, it is over 2 years old now:

And what if you make a new Windows user on this machine and log into it with that? Any different?
