Game does not launch

I freshly installed EU4 from Steam.

When launching the game the Steam window to "Prepare to Launch" appears and then disappears quickly followed by nothing.

I've re-installed the game twice already with same result.

Running Windows 10. I have HOI4 and KC2 installed and working successfully.

The error log after failing still appears to be empty.

try deleting documents/paradox/eu4 folder, then reinstall through steam.
