Pretty good review, other than the factual error about the timer.

How do you turn the timer off in single player? The only options I have seen in the SP startup are short, normal, and long. Are you talking about being able to use the sandbox mode?

I don't think you can turn it off, but you can always pause the game (with the pause button) to think about the situation. You can still give orders then, by the way.

Pausing effectively stops the timer.

I believe what they meant in the review was that there was no option to have a game where the timer was not present, not that it couldnt be paused. Unless they talked about it somewhere else in the review besides the part in ()s.
