Sorry it's 2.2.1 DPOO

Started on 769 as Charlemagne (all dlc safe sunset invasion are running + mediterranean, russian, african,turkish portraits and mongol faces, Dynasty shields I+II also African, Byzantian, russian units, the EUIV converter; no background music only soundeffects), I've formed empire of Francia (Frisia, Aquataine, Saxony, Germany, Bavaria, Bohemia, Greece & that kingdom with Barcelona are vassal kings , Bourgondy is a vice royalty; and I rule the Empire as well as West francia & Andalusia)
somewhere after 946 (last save game i can reload) game keeps ctd. I'm Basque and Empire is on absolute cognative & primogeniture law, Andalusia still on agnatic-cognative gavelkind.
I don't get any msg, it just reverts to desktop. Have tried 4 times now I can play couple of months then ctd.
As fas as I can tell, I late joined a crusade for Jerusalem (just to get the crusader thingie) maybe this was a trigger?

Hi, I am experiencing a similiar problem. Joined a crusade, after a few years, CTD. Im also on ironman.

Do you have the Norse Unit Pack DLC? If not, and there are Norse units on the map, this is a known bug - we're all waiting for a patch to fix this.

Hope it comes soon, as I'm married to the queen of Lombardia atm so my heir should be able to form the hre and everything is just running so swell atm I can hardly believe it

what's been buggin me is that I actually took Greece in the first crusade called, no problems there. I did join directly when it was called; during this second crusade (for Jerusalem) I joined very late. In both instances there had to be Norse units on the map?

It's looking possible it's more than just the Norse unit pack ... Norse, Saxon, Celtic and Warriors of the faith are under suspicion now.

ah, well in the first crusade I raised the 2 holy merc groups, in the 2nd one they are under someone else's command...

So I opted in the new beta; the current crusade was resolved; then I declared holy war on Fynn (that little island in Denmark, that in my game is not part of Denmark although it is Germanic), managed to get 3/4 of my levies assaulting it then game ctd

That sounds like an new problem unrelated to the one in your OP here. I guess you didn't want me to look at it, since you didn't post a save game showing it - does that mean you've taken it to the Bug Reports forum already?

That game crashes for me too, so I created a new bug report and attached that save.

I don't know when a fix will come through, so just try it under each new patch as they come out.

Bought the Norse unit pack, maybe that will help?

Not so far as I know, no, since that bug is fixed in the beta which you now have.

yep, didn't help, nor did the addition of the Saxon unit pack I tried it and it ctd directly after that crusade was resolved, I didn't even get to declare war on fynn

k, so I retried again and to my surprise I could play on....untill I put my ruler on the right side of one of my retinue armies and when I want to resign him the game ctd...

(btw I now have Norse and Saxon unit packs also running)
actually, I've raised my local levies, let the retinue return to home soil then put my emperor leading the local levy, then discarded the local levy, that worked. Then I tried to resign my brother, King of Greece, from the same retinue and the game ctd. ;(

That is a known bug, there are many reports in the Bug Reports forum on it.

k, I work around that
So I finally get to continue: the Emperor dies, the new emperor (who's still heir to Lombardia) manages to marry the 2nd in line for the petty Kingdom of Essex (assasinated the heir )..So everything is looking just perfect and then he dies 5 years into his rule with only 2 daughters and his mother still alive...So now my brother/uncle is heir to the kingdom of Lombardia, I loose (well it remains within the empire so no real big loss) the Kingdom of Andalusia to my younger sister and we won't be controlling Essex (I did manage to get heiress to Essex married to another male of my dynasty, but that's not that good in the planning to incorporate Brittania into my empire ) and we're facing a major rebellion for independance from Germany, Saxony, Greece, Aquatiane & Bavaria.....
