Game crashing on the game initialization screen or main screen

Hello,

First,, the game crashed on autosave (usually, on 2nd year autosave). Now, it crashes on initialization screen or main screen (onr second after reaching it). I have tried to reinstall the game, no difference. There is no mod running.

There's no crash report box opening. The game just stops running.

What antivirus app do you use?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/CK3/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log

But that error log is pretty concerning. Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test with a new campaign, BEFORE restoring the saved games

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

I have similar issue. Game crashes in main menu, menu apperes on just the second and then game crashes.
Tried clean reinstall, same thing,
all mods disabled.

Then you must have a different problem cause than the OP, as that fixed them up. In future please make your own new thread, thanks.

- uninstall the nVidia driver and all other nVidia software
- reboot
- install the latest by fresh download from here:

Now main menu is working. But when I try to start a game or create a character game CTDs on loading. No crash report, nothing. Just closes. No mods enabled. AV off.
