Game Crashing After Saved Game Loads

When I load a saved game, it crashes shortly thereafter. It doesn't matter how many times I try to load the game. I try playing in windowed mode, turning the sound off, updating my drivers, and so on, yet no change in results.

So this is on any and all save games, and no new games?

Have you applied the 1.2 patch? Does it happen with saved games started under that patch?

You might check omegadrivers.net for further updates to your video drivers, those HP ones are nearly a year old now.

I only have two saved games at the moment. Autosave and oldautosave. I loaded oldautosave and the game crashes the same year autosave does, 533 AVC.

I have been running on the 1.2 patch since I first played the game, so yes.

I've updated my video drivers from omegadrivers.net, yet the problem persists.

Perhaps you could upload your saves to a file hosting site and post a link here, and someone else could try them. That will show whether it's your saves or your Rome installation that's the problem.

Well, I tried my saved game on another computer of mine. It's a better machine, yet the saved game still crashes. I'm leaning towards the game and not the computer being the culprit.
