The game crashes for me about every two hours or so, but it's not the crashes that make me crazy - it's all the lost unsaved progress. Is there an autosave option that I missed, and if there isn't I would like to request one.

i would say update your driver and the other stuff

1. download "all in one runtimes http://sereby.org/site/AiO" a realy cool tool to update all the runtimes and other stuff like java, frameworks, directx and so stuff with one button!
2. download and uptate your drivers grafik, motherboard,...

in the most times this resolves most of the issues with some games!

Please tell us if you manage to solve this issue and how!

So far, I've had only two crashes in the past 36 hours (all of them right after installing the latest stable AMD drivers). After that, it's been pretty stable with no lags, freezes etc. I guess the beta drivers didn't want me to play the game.

My game has never crashed and ive clocked allot of hours so far.

Ma-bey check your CPU temperature , I noticed mine gets pretty hot playing this game as opposed to other games. But i have a thermostat on my motherboard and window on my case so i notice it more.

Ma-bey i will buy a bigger fan, i only use the stock fan that came with my CPU. Anyway this game gets pretty hot, if it were to get hot enough my computer would shut off.

I recently applied new thermal paste. CPU temps never go above 60C. It's my AMD driver(s) that's causing all of these crashes.

Well my entire PC IS amd and i recently applied thermal paste as well. It never crashes. Socket temp during game play steadily rises to 70C no other game does that. however if you turn the detail level down i have noticed Socket temp can be reduced up to 10 degrees. If you switch to the desktop to view temp it will cool down while on the desktop. I notice this temepture because i can see temp at all times from my motherboards thermostat.

Ill have to check card temp later i am reffering to CPU socket temp, im sure its hot it is amd.

I have an FX8350 8 core
and i have an R9 290 Video card. I do not think it is the amd drivers because my game has never crashed and i use all amd drivers.

Is something other then drivers i think.

Just curious, how hot did your AMD card spike to?

No idea, but when the game crashes I noticed the fan accelerating A LOT. Maybe my card can't handle it? I have an HD6670.

No crashes yet here (one hang but that was when testing some mod code).

AMD 5850 first day running 1.5+yr old drivers, no problems
(new card arrived) AMD R280 3gb running latest stable omega's , no problems yet in last 36hr (almost all spend in the game)
gpu temps (dual fan) in the high 50's low before frame-locking it, for those running hot you may want to look into trying those 45 and 30 framelock mods, might help prolong\stop things if temp is the issue.

If you switch to the desktop to view temp it will cool down while on the desktop.
That's why you need something that keeps a graph going for you for at least the last minute. I happen to use and old copy of msiafterburner that I can fire up, play the game, and flip back look at the last minute or two of the monitor, it having been sampled every second to get a better snapshot of temps\fanspeed\clocks\etc.
