Game crashes sometimes when I try to load

I'd say it happens around 50% of the time, I try to load and get a not responding windows warning and the game has to close. I googled it & found a solution about corrupt saves but removing all my saves except the most recent didn't solve the problem.

I would say to delete EU4 Folder from My documents (or just Flags folder if there is one - someone on forum pointed out it could cause problems since something with flags changed). If this doesn't work then try validating game installation in Steam.

What will that do to my game? I won't end up with no flags will I?
