Game crashes after i reach a certain point in the game, point varies.

So i don't know if this has been reported before, but alas, this is really hindering my ability to enjoy the game.

This just keeps happening. I have tried multiple games, but everytime i get around 40-50 years in, the game will start crashing without pause.
It usually does NOT happen when just playing regular CKII, but when playing ironman, it begins happening. It also happens when playing mods but i don't know if that is relevant.

The worst part is, the only way i can keep playing is if i keep quicksaving EVERY DAY so that i can reload after crashing. As you can imagine this is not very fun.

I sadly do not really have any crash info or anything, it just gives me the "CKII has stopped responding" windows message.
I can't really reproduce it either as it only happens on ironman after about 50 years, and after playing through 12 or so games where the game just crashes after i get to the point where it starts getting, my want to play this game has really dropped.

Things i have tried:
Just dismissing it and trying a new game
Trying without mods
Completly reinstalling the game (Logs and everything)
Updating some drivers and shit like that

In Steam right-click on CK2 and choose properties. Hit the Beta tab and select 2.2.1.1 from the list there. Once the update is done, try your game again please.

I have the same problem. And when I tried AndrewT solution it only said "Beta access code invalid" .. any other idea what it could be ? plzzzz?

Sorry, I was entering the 2.2.1.1 in the box below the good one .. now the game seem to be working perfectly ! thx and thx again ! yay

Hi AndrewT, I have tried your advice and activated the 2.2.1.1. The game run smooth for a while and then it started crashing again. I have changed it back to normal and the issue still persist. Game crashing regularly.

It is no more fun playing Crusader Kings II, a shame since I have invested heavily in most DLC's.

I might add that I've also done the Game Cache Integrity Verification a few times before and after I've changed to the Beta.

I have just uninstalled the game and installed it from new.

It still crash!

If 2.2.1.1 fixed the OP's issue and not yours, you clearly have a different problem. Please start your own thread with full problem and system details, thanks.
