I have a game were I play as France. I went on a conquering spree and have most of europe + byzantium . Me and my uncle (i'm his heir) heir are holding all the duke titles.

I keep all the kings title for myself, I got 20-30 of them and I give the duke to my uncle as I need to decrease badboy (what can I say, I'm a bad exploiter, but that's not the point here).

At one point i'm holding around half of the duke title and my uncle the other half, and I can save my game fine.

If my uncle die, I inherit fine (well with the quirky window when you have too much to inherit but that's not too bad) but then the game crash when I save the game.

Edit: Actually, this can't be the problem, since there are no dyn = 0 characters in my saved game. :confused:

I've also noticed that the time between the stop/restart of the soundtrack cycle (i.e. the last track stop and the first reload) is extremely dangerous for the game engine cause you can get a CTD, for example, while saving or if an event pop up.
But, i don't know if it's a game bug or my laptop is totally annihilated by CK :)

hmm i don't have this problem ?? i own whole north africa, spain and france.. like 10 or more king titles and countless dukes but it works fine? especially with 1.04 i hadn't have a savegame crash till now (unlike 1.03b) :)

I just tryed with the lastest beta and I still get the crash.

I don't know what you did but it still seems to be a problem for me. What can I do to help you solve this ?

I think I have a save I made after I loaded the game. I'll see if it still loads :)

I'm playing with 1.04, 1337 scenario and just started experiencing this type of crash. I don't hold "too many titles" in my opinion: King of Serbia, Bosina, Croatia, about 6 duchies, and 14 counties. When I tried to save the game last, it crashed. Unfortunately the save/crash wiped out the previous save I had loaded from, so I can't try it again -- last night it also wiped out my autosave (which I had forgotten)which means I have to start from the oldautosave which is about 10 years previous. This sucks and pisses me off greatly. I guess I now have to make a backup of every one of my saves to avoid this happening again. If the save/crash reoccurs I suppose I'll be back here (nothing else I can do, besides cursing).

Edit: Probably not helpful, but it was the early 1370s, Germany disintgrating from being at war with the Horde for too long -- lots of countries in the game at war.

I also have finally gotten an unstable game from 104a that does not seem to have a solution. I actually have played 3 to finish with no trouble, and now have one of the second set of three that is, to me, inexplicably unstable and will ctd every 12 to 24 game months. I do not know if these are the result of corrupted savegames that do not go critical until two years down the road, but since a reload does not crash for 18 months or more, the game can be continued by anally saving manually frequently, and relaoding after a crash.

It is not until late middle of the game that there is a consistent problem or tendency to instability, and it still looks like it is some subroutine severely lagging...
