game broken?

ok I just bought the game and did the upload patch and it would not install like 5 of the files in the patch it said could not delete.
one of my captains died and now the fleet is stuck in the middle of the ocean not able to move at all. And not I cannot see the select screen due to the search for patch window that is stuck up.
is this game that full of bugs that I have hit 3 bugs in the first 40 minutes of playing 2 of them make the game unplayable.

Any help on this or do I have to go get my money back for the game already?

If something weird happens, save and reload, this usually fixes it.

The game is not particularly buggy, it's just kind of bare bones.

Try reinstalling the patch, or perhaps event the whole game, sounds like the patch didn't installed correctly. Other than that, register your game on the forum and post in the tech support section.

press CTRL+ALT+DELETE and make sure the game isn't listed amongst the currently running processes. I just had this problem with the patch too. Shut off the east india company .exe and try the patch again. It should work.

Also...You can set the progran torun as the administrayor if that doesn't work, you might be flagged as a user and cannot change locked files.
