Hello,
I'm considering getting Cities in Motion 2, because I love these kind of games. However, how game-breaking are some of the issues which I've read about, especially the path-finding? I don't care about pretty graphics or things like that, but I do care that people will actually use the lines I built properly, otherwise the whole game is ruined for me.

They are not game-breaking at all.
If you talk about not getting enough profit from lines you have built... First of all, the player sees an empty town because it has no public transport. Build your first bus or trolleybus line then make another one connected to the first. It will make inhabitants using them both and increase interest. Town starts to live only when public transport shows that it's developing.
If you mean situations when the pedestrian rides tram route 1 by street having routes 1 2 3, then goes out on tram stop, waits for tram 2, then rides tram 2 for one more stop to get out and continue using tram route 1... honestly, I've read a lot of such things when the game was released. But never noticed them in my own save games.

Yeah, something like that, or other path-finding issues (where the citizen might for instance pick the shortest distance using 10 lines rather than the quickest using just 1 line). Let me refer you to this thread: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?689278-Weirdest-commutes

Believe me or not, but I even don't suspect passengers to making such strange routes until I've read about it on the forum. Only wondering why mean travel time tends to 10 and more hours.

Real annoying things were crashing (solved by installing new video drivers) and road-replacement with changing routs. But all this were not so bad to call them game-breaking. As for me this game is worth playing and buying.

The only potentially "game breaking" aspects of this game (for realism freaks) arise from the combination of game time compression coupled with realistic animation speeds which leads to unrealistically long journey times which in turn makes the timetable system a little... not perhaps what it was hoped it would be. You can edit the rule set to change the time compression to your taste but obviously the more you reduce it, the longer you have to wait in real time for things to happen etc.

So long as you can get over that, if building a mass transit network appeals you just go for it - it's a blast.
