Gallia Cisalpina - best ski resort for legions on R & R ?

Just got back from a good week skiing in Val d'Isere and wondered what idle legions did on holiday.

Skiing might not have been invented but those shields could be early sledging or boarding kit. Though frankly the Gauls' shields look as if they might be better. Was there a downhill competition?
