Hi folks, brief intro here: A couple of months ago I've registered to this forum to post my suggestion which was a mysterious traveler offering locations of resources, genius prospects, unknown informations and more, for influence. No one replied to that post, but after a while new patch was released including enclaves. This means to me that either Paradox team values everyone's opinion, or Stellaris community wanted something like this before and I had the same idea, or both.

I'm back with a suggestion that is really easy to implement and will make the game more exciting. A button on the victory screen which shows you story (remarkable achievements, political events, wars etc.) in nicely contructed sentences so that we really anticipate to reach the victory screen and then post our story online. The story/history screen can either be a big text box or a multiple pages album which contains cool space images of Stellaris & story text on it.

Thanks to developers and the community for always working to improve Stellaris.
See you in the future,
doww

I was thinking about posting something similar (might still do it, I had a fair bit of details thought out), except as a timeline window that you could open up, that would show the history of your species/civilisation. If you've ever played the game Spore, you may remember it had a similar feature, and this is what I envision the stellaris timeline would look like. Just a bar that keeps track of all the major events and anomalies that occur for your empire and displays them. Even cooler would be the ability to see this for other empires, but have parts of the "history" blocked out until you've surveyed their systems and found anomalies which expand on their history, and let you piece it together, thereby allowing you to try and complete your understanding of the history of other empires. Perhaps this could even give a relationship or influence bonus in the name of a "better understanding" of the empire in question.

"Easy to implement" is... subjective.

What you're describing might be simple to code- but it would require going through and both adding new "memory tags" to every event in the game, and then to write multiple descriptions of every event (with additional coding to tell the game when to switch between them or truncate repetitive lines, so that you don't end up with strings of "And then the X Empire colonized World A. And then the X Empire colonized World B. And then the X Empire...")

Well, it might be possible to start small and do a little history window like in EU4 that shows you all major things like what wars you fought and what you gained or lost in them.

Don't get me wrong- I'd love even a "timeline" that just spits the events and wars back at you in chronological order. I was just pointing out that the idea the OP was putting forwards probably isn't as "easy to implement" as they think it is.
