Hey guys, I have one more problem right now.

I cant get any allies anyway I try. I am playing as Sweden and only protestant countries are Novgorod with 3 provinces, Poland with around 8-10 provinces and Hamburk with 2 provinces.

Everybody else is Catholic in Europe and obviously everybody hates me. Only Bohemia was kind of strong in middle Europe, but broke alliance and got wiped out, while I was in Regency.

Now the issue is, that there are few strong alliances, only 2 superpowers, who are alone is me and France. And France is defender of catholic faith, so anybody I fight in HRE, there will join Austria, allied with Spain and England and France as defender of the faith.

So kind of hard to expand anywhere in the Europe, what was my goal, as Muscowy is weak and my first goal was to go to the Europe, as the Muscowy and going east is too easy, I am not interested in Americas and there is only way left in the map.

Nobody wants to be connected even I spent around 15 years in Regency (my king died when heir was 1 year old), so the AE is quite low. Any idea how to break the alliances a bit? I am second strongest on the map, but cant fight against HRE,France, England and others.

You can still get alliances with Catholic if you try hard enough. Guarantee, improve relations, royal marriage,... At some point, you can get alliances unless they are rivals, outraged or something. You can also try with Orthodox if there is any left strong enough to be of any use.

Yeah there are many ways of getting alliances, most of them will take time building up and time to keep the alliance going once you get it though. You don't need major powers for alliances, find ones that suits your need for the moment. I don't get why you won't expand to the east first? If it's available then take it and make yourself stronger. Poland would be a great buffer state between you and the western countries if you want to expand east. And alliances isn't there for your country's safekeeping either, ally with mid power country that have power house as their ally, and join in when a huge war break out, get yourself some western provinces from that ;p
