Gaining Independence...

Hi, I was declared war on the HRE and it called ERE to arms, my liege. So naturally I became independent. I knew I was going to lose versus the ERE so I assassinated the current Emperor, removing them from the war as well as keeping my independence. I didn't want to become independent, but is this WAD?

Sounds like a bug with the temporary independence state. Not sure if it's WAD or not but I'll look further into it, thank you for reporting it.
