FYI: Steam Key does not work when registering

I am unable to use my Steam key to register the game here on the forums.

It's a known issue with M&B: WF&S that the key can't be registered. Paradox is aware of the issue. Until further notice we just have to wait till it's fixed. However you should have access to the tech section, so the only loss atm is the small icon.
