When defining troops (landunit) and fleets (navalunit) in the definition of a country, it is possible to define a path the troops/fleet will follow at the very beginning of the scenario. The instruction "movement" serves this purpose. It lists the provinces that will be crossed by the troops/fleet. The provinces listed do not need to be known by the country.
So, by adding the following line in the definition of a fleet for Portugal , and adding an explorer as leader of the fleet, it is possible to simulate an expedition in 1419 to some part of Africa.
The drawback is that there is no way to define the same thing within an event which should have been a nice way to simulate historical expeditions like the expeditions carried out by Portugal or even the voyage of Christophe Colomb.
BTW, the expedition following the above path ends in the Golden Coast and the province of Casamance is discovered (I tried three times the instruction and ended each time with Casamance).

Code:
movement = { 980 981 1057 1056 1127 1128 1129 }
