I hope developers know how much the work they have done is appreciated really (even if it's not spelled out every day). Approach chosen in AoD - improvement of the game elements that are central to war reality simulation, but which get expressed mainly in form of details that can be noticed only when actually playing the game - will not bring easy popularity on the graphics oriented gaming market, but has even a higher value particularly because of it. It reflects honest wish to enhance the side of the game that is unique and important. Thanks.

Would the developers be so kind and tell the fans what lies ahead for AoD? Any plans for 1.08 or an expansion? Or has development stopped definitely? Any info would be appreciated! :)

+1 for batch plans

and

+1 for AoD expansion!

I would be happy to purchase an expansion, if there are new features (better influence what puppets are doing? revamped intelligence operations?), new events (e.g. better surrender events), new techs (e.g. transport ship technology!!!) and/or new units/ brigades. I guess when you know you can make at least some money it's easier to find the time...I know you can't work indefinitly without any monetary benefit!

I will stick with my 1.05 having read some negative comments about 1.07 and the changes not really improvements. The only thing that would get me to change is when (if) they ever revamp the convoy system for players that micro-manage that. I have suggested it elsewhere. All I want is the ability to be able to move the listing of resource depots and other listing of convoys to be able to move any item up or down (just like we can move production queue items up and down) as this would permit for congruent display of resource points versus convoys. I am so tired of having to rebuild the whole convoy list to get it congruent with resource depot when some minor thing changes like creating a puppet so now the resources from the remaining region appears at new depot for which you can only convoy to/from with new convoy added to bottom of list - but the resource depot is at top of list. What a headache! And to further save on aspirin, why can't devs just SIMPLY list all resource depots possible ALPHABETICALLY just like the provinces are listed?

If anybody has any clout, please take this post and move it appropriately.

For 1.08 please just fix known bugs and typos, then spend the rest of the time on AI and perhaps a bit more balancing. No more new features at all until it is possible to play a long campaign as one of the major powers without another major country making repeated stupid mistakes. Please.

I agree with you guys - getting through a game without triggering events manually and modding saves or going back a few saves to keep smth from happening (or force Germany to declare on SU) things like this can be annoying.
But I can see the dilemma here. If you do this then you keep introducing more and more fixed scrips - less and less variables. So there is adanger that each game develops the same way. Take for instance this AAR (by General Guisan)
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...3-To-restore-the-Republic-(Nationalist-China)

Everybody there went crazy - SU vs allies, axis vs allies - but axis at peace with SU until the surprise attack. US declares on SU before joining the Allies. That is fun too.
The solution would be to have 2 sets of AI and scipt files (for 1936 only because I think it is a lot of work and other starting dates suffer less from AI behavior because it is later in the war) for an historical way of playing and one for variable playing styles. So you can pick one and enjoy your game how you like it. This can be seen in the CIV IV and its addons - you can also play WWII scenarios and chose in the beginning if you want to follow history or a free game.

I'd guess it all depends on how many people do "convert" to DH or IC. As far as I think both titles have some good ideas but still so many flaws compared to a custom modded version of AoD that it feels like starting all over. Compared to the other two retail mods it feels AoD is clearly better. If some folks agree then there might be another patch, I guess?
P.S. And yes, no more new features please. That's when things get worse and we all wait for the next patch

Something that might make things simplier in this regard would be having convoys physically on map, i.e. like all other navies.

This would not simplify but greatly complicate everything, and probably change everything to become a war focused on convoys. However, fixing the convoy management system so the two lists of resource depots and the convoy list is "adjustable" would be terrific to the micro-manager. And list everything alphabetical.

Finding leaders was a horrible task before and got pretty much fixed. Can't the same be done for convoys? Or am I the only one micro-managing them?
