Hey all; firstly I tried to search for my question, for I know there used to be a post where the "we would like to add this eventually" things ; unfortunately i was not able to find it again, so if anyone can point me to that post I wold appreciate it.

Beyond mechanics, is there any consideration to rework Latam (beyond mexico as we now have) ?

Thanks!

  • Improve flavor and immersion with naming of things in the game. No more Infantry Division Type 1 etc.
  • A Chain of Command system allowing field marshals to command generals
  • Every starting nation has a custom portrait for historical leaders
  • A way for players to take dynamic decisions, quickly. Something that fits between events and national focuses.
  • Changing National Unity to something that matters during most of the game rather than when you are losing only
  • Rework how wars work with respect to merging etc as its a big source of problems
  • Add the ability to clean up your equipment stockpile from old stuff
  • Allow greater access to resources through improving infrastructure
  • More player control over naval warfare and fleet battle behaviour
  • A logistics system with more actual player involvement (now you only care once stuff has gone very badly)
  • Improved naval combat interfaces with good transparency to underlying mechanics (give it the 1.4 air treatment)
  • Improve balance, feedback and mechanics for submarine warfare
  • Long term goals and strategies to guide ai rather than random vs historical focus lists, visible to players
  • Spies and espionage
  • Improving peace conferences
  • Update core national focus trees with alt-history paths and more options (Germany, Italy, USA, United Kingdom, Soviet, France, Japan, Poland)
  • Wunderwaffen projects
  • Properly represent fuel in some way in the game
  • More differences between sub-ideologies and government forms
  • More National Focus trees. (Among most interesting: China, South America, Scandinavia, Spain, Turkey, Iran, Greece)
  • An occupation system that isnt tied only to wars and where core vs non-core isn't so binary for access to things.
  • Make defensive warfare more fun
  • Adding mechanics to limit the size of your standing army, particularly post-war etc
  • Have doctrines more strongly affect division designing to get away from cookie cutter solutions and too ahistorical gamey setups

Keep in mind, this is from Ironclad. Some things (e.g. fuel) are done with MtG.

im disapointed of this is supost to be solve, legue of nations mod show very very clear that a 3 party system: stability, war suport and agresivenes (or the name you want for be a menace to other countries). this way you also make other countries reactives to your activity to be prepared becose justifique war could get some doble front wars.

on the other side:
  • Adding mechanics to limit the size of your standing army, particularly post-war etc
versalless..... mmm long way to versalles still

How about allowing a the "rebel faction" of a MP that ends up in a civil war due to following an alt-history path on its tree actually being allowed to keep its tree, with the obvious alternates locked out for it; I had a civil war between Japan [Fascist, under Hirohito] and State of Japan [Democratic], and Japan was the rebel faction. The AI sent Japan along the democratic path - which is fine, but with all the work put into the tree, I think its a shame that the rebel faction got stuck with the Generic tree.

I've also thought that, for capitulated nations, they need a recovery tree - locked out unless they have been conquered - that helps with the rebuilding, provided the new masters [if there are new masters] okay the decisions or focus choices made. But such a tree would be mainly for rebuilding the devastated infrastructure and civilian industry - not so much the military industries, unless the master really needed that online [or the conquered and restructured bad-guy/good-guy was being dragged into an ongoing war with their conquerors/new allies].

Dan said in paradox com that the politic game would have a change. actualy the idiology doesnt work as political parties, is how the rules for relation intercountries (a minimun value of world tension to justification or lean lease, etc). mybe in a future we could have 2 cakes ine for idiology (as a international proyection or internationa affair view) and a party cake that could also have set rules.
Rebels is a likely thing, yesterday i was playing darkest hour, i havent played in a year and its amaizing when riots start to begin, we lost that.

recovery tree is a very interesting idea, the game need to be a bit more reactive.

When they rework the Latin America, they totally, absolutely, need to add an option under the Brazilian focus tree to form the URSAL (União das Repúblicas Socialistas da América Latina).
If you are brazilian like me you know how huge the importance of adding this is.

They also need to put in something, this DLC or later, that drops the Democratic influence spirits due to the US playing the focus under the Monroe Doctrine branch, if the US is capitulated or changes its government, and is no longer Democratic - at least for any South and Central American nations not yet Democratic. Its annoying conquering the US and yet they still seem to be getting that Pro-Democratic effect; almost had everyone Fascist once, but Venezuela flipped on me. Took days to get them back.

My personal wish-list taking https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...ry-1-5-2-future-roadmap-and-ironclad.1088407/ into consideration:

For the First DLC, please finish the homework - NF-tree updates for SU and France (perhaps in addition with Scandinavia) and fix all the broken or missing political stuff, e.g. the peace conference system and espionage.

Then in the second DLC Wunderwaffen would be nice - but please remain reasonable. Long Range Guns (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V-3_cannon), Rockets (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_German_guided_weapons_of_World_War_II), gluide bombs (Henschel Hs 293) and heliocopters (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikorsky_R-4, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flettner_Fl_282) were all more or the ready-to-use at least at the end of the war, there is no need for Return to Castle Wulfenstein stuff.

Along with the Wunderwaffen, the NF-trees in the Mediterranean could be updated (Italy) or introduced (Spain, Greece, Turkey).

My third wish for a DLC would be updates for the air-warfare mechanics like the possibility to make certain squadrons use certain airplanes (and types of airplanes), ways to represent air-to-ground missions of fighters (which was quite common) and some way to integrate air officers into the game a bit more than now. An airplane designer would be nice to have, but less important than the ship designer. Along with this, a NF-tree update for South America would be great.

At this point, the game would feel somehow "complete", at least for the 1930s - 1940s era.

Good point. Hopefully @Archangel85 has made this happen with the rework of the USA in Mtg. As a general rule, all old modifiers that affect ideology should be cancelled when the country flips. But because these are external modifiers based upon the US being a democracy and the Big Dog in the neighborhood removing them might have been missed.

You could also have the US applying pressure with fascist or communist modifiers to Latin America as applicable when the US changes ideology. The US is still going to be the Big Dog no matter what ideology it chooses, and these 2 ideologies tend to be more "forceful" in their expectations of neighbors.

i agree but next dlc mainly fix bugs and revamp frontline logic also add political stuff.

long range cannon and also other ideas were no good in deed but other could be added and get funtional misiles, misiles from iron courtain (as kamikaze planes) works fine of you want.

Another thing I'd like to see is some better cooperation between different factions who have a common enemy. I was kicking the Soviets out of Poland as Imperial Germany, and there was no way to return Poland's turf to them; they were left with just the Danzig province - not the state, the province [maybe two - the coastal provinces]. The Allies were at war with the Soviets, and had been since the Soviets invaded Finland. I'd managed to protect Romania by aligning them and then inviting them into a faction. I probably should have just held off and joined the Allies myself - I was trying for "Other Place in the Sun" after "Monarchy Back in Fashion".

The point is that I was open to the idea of returning Poland's land to them, but I couldn't. Instead, I had to garrison it. I wanted the ALLIES to fight the Soviets, but they couldn't get into Poland fast enough to stop the Poles from capitulating.

Anyway, I believe it would add a dimension to the political game, being able to operate a bit outside the box. Better yet - have a decision that enables an agreement to return territory to its owner [based on cores], regardless of factions, as long as they are not at war with one another, and are fighting a common enemy. If there's a conflict regarding the cores, then it goes to whomever held it last, or is friendlier to the one returning it.

And that thing with the Democrats hating on anyone who causes WT - that needs to be refined. If someone is being aggressive, sure. But if that aggression is serving the needs of the Democrats - say an aggressor declares war on a nation the Democrats are at war with - then there should be a green modifier, or at the very least, nothing negative. I know that's supposed to represent their anxiety at the status quo being upset, but if the status quo has already been upset, and the further upset can be beneficial, it should be welcomed. Its difficult enough getting resources as some countries without having that nonsense preventing me from building what I need.

Thanks!

Yes, please:

1. Adding more states to L.A. countries (for example Netherlands have more states then bigger Peru or Colombia). NO more industries, no more army, just mor states, resembling real life.
2. Brazil needs a national focus tree, I think on YT in the new Mexico gameplay, it was the most common comment. Brazil had a bigger role in WW2 than Mexico.
3. That U.S. focus tree that intervenes in any L.A. war is just unbalanced. It would make sense if any other no american nation attack the continent, but interven between continent's nations, mmm don't know if proper. Other way maybe to add a decision to stop that.
4. Gradually add focus trees to Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia, Peru.

I do not expect Latin America will get a dlc before all the majors (France, Italy, SU and Poland) are reworked (as I don't really think they fit with any of the remaining ones), so then they are probably at least 2 or 3 dlc's away (I expect something centred around the SU, Poland and some minors first which is then followed by something with France, Italy and maybe Spain. However France might be put with the SU instead making that 3 expansions)

Soviet Union DLC, with spies & espionage, better logistics, occupation system with more interactions with conquered lands & partisans, reworked communism (make transitions from other ideologies to Communism a bit more sensible), and of course some national focuses (SU, Finland?, Poland?, Baltic States?, Bulgaria?).

(boy, that would seem a bit too much...)

Politics (I guess I’d include espionage here) economics, trade. I don’t want like factorio levels of detail, but some sort of unfinished good situation would be interesting.

Additional country focuses (nf, art, rebalance of oob, decisions, etc), repeated passes and updates to the depth and breadth of land air and naval combats.

Rebalancing and integration of new mechanics to countries previously updated.

I just made another go at "Other Place in the Sun", only to learn that Dutch Curaçao apparently isn't enough of an "island" to qualify for the achievement. Bad enough that, but like an idiot, I didn't just restart and after the civil war - odd that getting rid of Hitler upsets the Allies [everything upsets the allies; reminds me of some of the cantankerous elderly tenants I have to cope with as an apartment caretaker] - when, historically, Churchill had warned anyone who'd listen [and a quite few who didn't] that Hitler would be trouble.

Actually, what would be really awesome would be a big red button in the middle of the top of the screen, for anyone who's ironman game is too mucked to bother continuing with, to hit for a well-deserved, stress-reliving shower of fiery death being rained down upon their enemies. All of them. Meteors, volcanoes, angsty teenagers in giant transforming robots... Anything, or all of it. Just a more epic way to QUIT than the usual.
