On the sweden part I removed the allows military access event for Germany because an AI Germany could not handle it. Perhaps we can make this a Human only event.

That would be a very good solution, but perhaps also have a 'check' event that it isn't exploited, by checking if german divisions are in xxx swedish province, in that case, Sweden revokes acces, minus diplomat, cancel trade aggrements or something else?

But in real life, german troops were allowed to be transport through Sweden... Even armed ones. And I surely prefer that way than taking the long route via Narvik - strait of Copenhagen (Öresund) and up to the finnish coast. Darn brittish are everywhere...

Because now, the norwegian mountains are impassable thanks to Thistletooth. ;)

I didn't touch Norway.

Those are impassable in regular TRP, so Thistletooth isn't to blame... ;)

Actually, an "impassable" link still allows supplies (and MP, deployment, etc) to cross that boundary. Not sure if you can SR a unit out of a completely "isolated" province, so it might be a safeguard to leave the one link (even if very poor) open.

Tim

Empty provinces with no acces could be left out completely, like it is done in battle scenarios. As (only AI?) units do somehow end up in those provinces. It might look a little wierd, but I can only see positive effects on mechanics.

My concern is that a player "misclicks" and ends up with his newly created Panzer Division in some province he can't get it out of, otherwise.

I'm not sure that removing the provinces completely (as in battlescenarios) is a good idea in a full campaign - I think the map might end up with odd looking "holes" in it, which would undoubtedly cause many queries (and, I suspect, complaints).

Another problem with having provinces completely cut off is that there is no way of gaining control of them. This could be solved by events, but if one wants 20 countries to be able to cede control of an isolated province to any other of those 20 countries, one would need 380 persistent events - and could still end up with a 21st country controlling the surrounding provinces, or one of the first 20 controlling a province full of partisans but unable to send in troops to quell them.

There is also the fact that it is fully possible to build infrastructure in-game (or is this disabled in TRP?), meaning an Australian player could spend a few years building a road through the desert, or a British player building a road through Burma, and then end up with the road completely unaccessible.

In my one handsoff game (not with TRP) the Chinese restrictions had no notable effects on the Sino-Japanese war, but the British-Japanese front quickly turned into a stalemate that, after a few years, included several hundred divisions; most likely because the terrain in that area favours the defender and there is no stacking penalty for the defending side.
