Further Issues with Known Issue 4

Hey,

I had CK2 up and running on my computer prior to sending it in for repairs but it has since been reformatted with a new drive. I've reinstalled it off steam and while I initially assumed it was an issue related to Steam, after following the instruction of the known issue thread here, I went in and tried to run it off CKII.exe and it gave my the exact error that is described in 3; "d3dx9_41.dll is missing".

Following the link given in the Known Issue thread however though, the installation isn't working and as far as I can tell, I have DirectX 11 already installed. However, the listed files required are missing.

The failed installation is directing me to DXError.log and DirectX.log files which also do not exist as far as I can discern.

I figure this is likely a problem for Microsoft, but if anyone here has resolved similar problems then I would really appreciate the input.

DX11 is of no use, DX 9.0c is required - that exact DLL must exist and it only comes with DX 9.

After some trouble with the initial install and the latter making me pick a location [currently my documents are covered in wierd directX related files from this], it managed to install itself seemlessly and I may return to my fratricide simulatio- I mean Strategy games. Worst comes to worst, I can move the files and reinstall it if I have to but the game is definitely working so I'm chalking this up as a victory.
