To start off with, I'm not the greatest stragedy player and I like gaming the system. But......

LONG STORY: So, I start off as the Nanbu, do well, conquer a few territories. Than start to get overwhelmed by rebellions (is there someway to release vassals that I haven't noticed?) and a two front war, so I switch to the next largest clan whch is the Kasai.

Now as the Kasai I have great fun, watching my old Nanbu get overwhelmed and taking over one of the agressors (revenge is sweet ) but I see that first one, than two more counties (<-- right word for 1500's Japan?) become the Ikko-Ikki, with two armies of 125 000 and one of 250 000 (remember it is a 3 province [<-- better?] clan), so I start thinking ..... hmmmmmm.

So I start my great journey as the Ikko-Ikki, take over 3 nations in 4 years with those three massive armies, taking over all 3 Daimyos. Now a couple things are weird, every time you take over a province you get this "Ai!" event, which gives you 75% of Ikko-Ikki fortification and 25% of gaining 10 Ashigaru regis. Now I conquer Northern Uesugi all the way down to Sado before it goes nuts.

Rebellions pop up (helping me for once) all over Uesugi, and I start to face more numerous enemies. I notice that all these "Ai!" events do different things (by the way, these events only say "Ai!" on the top, no other info [other than giving exactly what it does] is given, no why that happen in other events), such as build buildings for free, or informing you of friendly rebellions. Buddhist rebblions pop up, and though they take land I want, I can't declare war on rebels (being rebels) and ignore them.

Now my leader dies at the 74 (oldest I've ever had, lucky old ...) and turns out that my heir doesn't get to be leader and it is given to someone else. Now I become a coutier (A coutier!) in the Ikko-Ikki clan, so I start a civil war (rebelling against the rebels) and become the Pro0vo-Ikko-Ikki clan. with no troops, no land, no coutiers (being just one myself). Seeing defeat in my clan, and failure of the rebellion (both in my own terms, and the loss of large tracts of land to the resurgent Uesugi and the newly recreated Takeda) I quit the game in shame, where it than crashes.

The End

Summary:
1. Ikko-Ikki is a playable rebellion.
2. Ikko-Ikki is half done, giving you only "Ai!" events that are not described and taking away all diplomacy (peasents and samurai do not deal).
3. Ikko-Ikki cannot declare war on rebels.
4. Ikko-Ikki will not expand when in AI mode.
5. Ikko-Ikki are suppose to get arqubuies(sp), I didn't get them as a player, actually had them taken away ("Ai!" events).
6. Can you release vassals, or make Korjuimi or whatchamicallit goveners.
7. When your heir fails to become clan leader, he becomes a courtier with NO land and NO army.
8. No actual family dynamic, or something unique for the Ikko-Ikki.
9.Civil war CAN happen within the Ikko-Ikki, but the clan is called the Pro0vo-Ikko-Ikki, seems like a glitch.
10. The scenarios in the begining don't change the map for me, the Onin War is the same as the Kanto War.

P.S. The first patch updating the Ikko-Ikki would be swell, making them more unique. My favourite clan :).

Could I turn this into an AAR? Huh, just realized it anyway thanks for reading I hope you have the anwsers!

Edit: turns out you can't give title grants to members of the Ikko-Ikki, because "Rebels and Samurai do not negotiate. So I can't give my son a title, because he is a Samurai and a Rebel.

I'm pretty sure the Ikko-Ikki aren't supposed to be playable at all...
In response to number 10, the scenarios are the same ones; but they give different parts of Japan some background and the key players. They all happen at the same time.

6: Can you release Vassals...

I am not sure what you mean, but you can most certainly make kokujin (province rulers). As soon as your own terretory spans more than 5 provinces you begin having an added threat of rebellion in all your regions - you can hand out some of the land though to a vassal and then fall down (or below) 5 and you should be safe (from peasant rebellion at least).

6. Yes you can create vassals, right click a charachter, go into diplomacy, and there you find an option grant landed title. Then you choose title and the charachter becomes ruler of that province. If you have more than 5 provinces under your direct control you get higher revolt risk.

It wouldn't be a proper Paradox game without the ability to slightly brokenly play rebels.

Edit: By the way, then did the Paradox forums get the ability to search old posts? I remember it was always turned off, since the forums had a tendency to stop working even without that extra strain on the servers. I'm glad it works now, though, I have some old, old posts..
