I had a fun time playing the new DLC as Manchuko. I was building up to get ready for a great independance war, but Japan was making way too many gains in China. I was able to declare war on Japan and encircle a lot of divisions in Korea and eventually I was able to push them out of Beijing. The Japanese offered me a white peace and I would gain core on most of North Eastern China. Losing Korea was acceptable, I mean I was going to be Emperor of China. With peace with the Japanese and control of Beijing I was able to move my capital and restore authority.

Now all I had to do was beat the Nationalists an the Warlords. After making gains to the Shandong peninsula the Nationalists were able to push Japan back out at Shanghai and off of the peninsula. The Chinese accepted Japanese peace and regained all of the land I had taken and forced a peace between me an the nationalists.

I like to think the the Emperor of Qing and Chiang Kaishek were just sharing a room in some imperial palace in Beijing and were filming some sort of sit com. The other bonus was that I was no longer able to deploy units.

I like to think that the game ended here and that there was eternal peace in the game. Unfortunately Nationalist China "called" Shanxi into a war that no longer existed, which caused me to be at war with all of China. I ended up losing my game because all of my divisions had been exiled after the peace. Great update paradox!

I had similar issues, in that I couldn't be bothered waiting for China to throw Japan out of Shanghai after I'd made peace with them, so I just went ahead and conquered China -- and then Japan was brought to the peace table with me and got to divide up the country that they hadn't managed to conquer any of. They held one province. Not a state, a single province! That single province (or possibly the mere fact that they were at war with my enemy) somehow entitled them to half the country.

I don't know how they didn't get this in any sort of testing. I don't see how it is possible to even play a game as Qing without there being any sort of issues. I remember in one of the Youtube play throughs they posted, they were bragging how they spent all of this time coding to change wars and how being at war would be a "status". Well it turns out it doesn't work like that at all.

There are all sorts of issues with the Chinese Theater right now. The warlords bouncing between overlords and factions is the one driving me crazy right now.

Edit: Well that and there's NO WAY to demand the colonies be surrendered without war. I mean I helped the bloody allies defeat the Nazis and the Soviets and they won't give me back 3 cities?

you got Taiwan right? That's probably where your capital is after the Japan surrender to China made your Qing-China war end, and likely the only place you can deploy units now

Same thing happened to me, it was super frustrating... IMO Japan should just make peace will all Chinas simultaneously. If they've been pushed out of the continent and made peace, they shouldn't come back for more... Also wasn't a defeated Japan supposed to become isolationist/stop declaring wars? Because in my game the Japs happily attacked the Netherlands after being pushed out of China completely...
