fun person to play

does anyone know a fun person to play as? i was initially thinking of choosing a german OPM and create a central europe superste only to realise its called the HRE. maybe i could go for bourbonge>burgundy>francia+lotharinga>most of western europe with a posible modded end of schism for catholics and becoming the western roman empire. any suggestions for other persons i could play as(though i'd like to avoid the british islands and scandinavia)? it doesnt really matter who to start as(as long as it isnt the HRE) and its a catholic/orthodox.

Yes, it's called "Interesting characters" IIRC.

The Count of Napoli, of the Spartenos dynasty, is a ball. Conquer Sicily and become the Greek Orthodox despot.

Bohemia is also plenty of fun, as is the Count of Vermandois in north-eastern France. Then there's the Doux of Epirus, in Greece -- really easy to take over Byzantium with him.

Eventually executed in a rage by Saladin himself. Starts out with four of the seven deadly sins, and Deceitful to boot. Controls two of the three provinces in his starting Duchy, with the fabled Assassin order holding the third. Lots of fun options. Swear fealty to Jerusalem? The Byzantines? Or remain independent and try to live up to the reputation of of one of history's greatest monsters?

The count of Argyle in 1066 is the funnest character in this game.

You have a son, he isn't of your dynasty BUT isn't a bastard. Hilarity ensues as you try to remove him.
Also you are a count under an independent Norwegian Duke in de-jure Scotland.

Futhermore Scotland in 1066 is a Bloodbath. Continuous war for 30 years is not at all uncommon.

Robert D'hauteville is great fun, between resisting the odd Jihad and consolidating your realms against the HRE, you can have a great time. If you're looking for a seemingly (but not totally) insurmountable challenge, start as a Zagwe in 1066

if yuo're open to a late game start, try one of the catholic counts in greece, and try to reassemble the byzantine empire which is fading then fight back the turks and beyond!, greeaat fun.

I think it's time you try a Italian count. The Orsini is a great choice, vassals under the pope.

id recommend the duchy of antioch and edessa around 1077. They're independant, Rum and armenia minor to the north, fatimids are reduced to egypt. And chances are the seljuk's implode making for a very fun game. Nonstop warfare
