Well, in 1066 Poland is ruled by Boleslaw III, he has no children yet. He also has 1 brother (no kids) and 1 sister, who is married to the duke of Bohemia (they may already have 1 or 2 children).

Hungary in 1066 is ruled by Salomon, he is still a minor (14 or 15 I believe). Before him, his uncle, Bela I, was the ruler of Hungary he was married to Ryksa/Richenza Piast, the aunt of Boleslaw III of Poland.

So, there could be claims, though having them unite within 8 years is pretty remarkable.

We also don't know which inheritance law Hungary or Poland has, by default most realms will start with partition (gavelkind) but in a video about inheritance we were told that f.e. Bohemia will have seniority as their default one.
Remember the inheritance law bug on the Iberia stream, where it went through the female line?

I mean, just saying... ;)

Salamon was overthrown by his cousins , Duke Géza and László (just like in real life, with the slight difference that after the rebellion László gained the throne here instead of his elder brother Géza), during the timeframe of the first livestream. László is a son of Béla I, thus he, by the right of his mother, has a claim on Poland, which he could either press by force, him being a pretty good commander, or he could've just inherited the title.

There could be some way for game to display both titles on map in cases of personal union -- let's say, if the monarch holds more than one kingdom, the two largest are displayed: Poland-Lithuania, Kanem-Bornu, etc. So in this case rather than a colossal Hungary we'd see "Hungary-Poland" to mark the fact it's still two kingdoms we're dealing with, not a single unified empire.

E: chill, it can be optional, no need to press X.

This is actually a very good idea, and it could be accompanied with a CoA merging thing.

So looking at the Kings and General video, it seems that Kosala was renamed to Pratihara and that Maharastra was renamed to Rashtrakuta.
Indian realms are now using dynastic CoAs and names like in CK2 (although they could've been just made having Clan government, but apparently they are just feudal).

I'd prefer that for when there's been some degree of centralisation and unification and so political union, not just a PERSONAL union where they are united merely in the person of the king.

As of current, just like in CK2, the map shows the primary title in case of personal union. Surely, it's better to depict personal union by "Hungary-Poland" than one big Hungary.

What if in a personal union, the titles' names are both there separately, but on the map they both have the same colour? And also only the "primary" title has its CoA banner visible on the map.

What would you propose in a situation where multiple kingdom titles are held by the same person but they don't meet the requirements to form an empire? Hungary-Poland-Lithuania for example? seems like it's being over thought slightly no? surely if it ain't broke don't fix it? Primary title appears on the map is just simpler.

Edit: The Hungary-Poland-Lithuania example may not be ideal because that might be enough for an empire I'm not really sure though.

It can be either hyphenated (Hungary-Poland) or treated dually (Hungary and Poland) – the idea is that the map, rather than depicting only the primary title of the ruler, would also show one other kingdom under his/her rule.

This option could be a good solution too (provided there are enough colors):

Is there really a need though when you can easily see what titles the ruler has by looking at said rulers character screen?

The eastern part of the map is torn because it's not leveled,so the Tibetan part goes further east than the Mongol part
I still think expanding the map is likely thought

The bottom of Africa isn't level. They go up and around the Congo basin. Yet they didn't decide to tear that part of the map despite there also being civilization in that direction (Congo, the Swahili Coast, Great Zimbabwe). In fact they could have torn all the edges instead of just the eastern one. Also they could easily have made the projection/provinces work to get a flat border on the eastern side of the map, if that's what they wanted. They have full control over how the eastern edge of the map looks, and they chose a torn border.

And Paradox knows how people will interpret a torn map, and they even let their early press videos point out the torn edge of the map (they also haven't tried to kill the rumour, which they often do when things are flat out wrong). So either they are building up some of the fan base up to letting them down (which seems like bad long term marketing) or they have plans to add China at some future point (even their current map projection seem designed to just leave just enough room for Southeast Asia).

So while I don't think the torn map is a guarantee China and SE Asia will be added (plans can always change), it definitely seems like their hinting at their intentions (a torn map seems designed for a trailer of the two pieces being connected).
