no idea if you can register it before release. I just hassled the people in power to give me the icon
It's on the "My Games" code entry page on this site, so if you have a registration number you can get it. Haven't pre-ordered to know for myself if they've given out codes on GamersGate.

GG normally make a post when they have codes. Think it's been about a week before release in most cases.
Sometimes there is pre-order bonus, where the code is released before the game is released. But usually the code comes available on the release-date.

If Paradox keep making and publishing so many games you are going to end up in the poor-house!
Whenever I see Veld's massive icon collection, I always wonder if he's actually played all his games, or if he bought them just for the icon.
The latter, getting all the icons is now a game in itself.
Of the 49 icons, I played about (games/expansions) 30 of them.
