I've heard it is currently in closed beta testing. after that, if they follow their usual chain of events, there will probably be a public beta testing with the forum. after that, who knows when the official release is.

comsubpac is not being mean or any such. This is just the way it's always been here. Patches get done when they are done.
It is the tradition. Due dates aren't part of the process.
yes it is in closed beta testing right now.... it is coming along nicely supposedly and i have heard some scuttlebutt about a possible expansion that could combine Darkest Hour and HoI III ... i am not sure of its name but it was discussed on the twcenter on which i am a member... the patch 3.06 should just be fixing little issues though - not completely adding new start/end dates... possibly changing some hard coding though in the .exe file that we modders cannot get to.

Interesting things your posting. I would love the DH/HOI3 thing. I really miss the political/espionage/election stuff from HOI2. I really would love to see that integrated into the HOI3 party support and organization aspect of HOI3.

For the 3.06:
IIR Devildread mentioned something about releasing the patch for S&S after the next patch(3.06) is out and estimated it around this weekend. And the Devs already wrote that it is in beta testing.. So not far away for open beta..

Where on twcenter did you hear that? I'm a member there too and I can't find anything about this in the Paradox forum there.
i really doubt that... different developers, different engines... i think i even recall that darkest hour and iron cross didn't really sell as well as expected.
Actually, DH did better than expected. Collaboration between DH and FTM is just not going to happen though. Most of us who turned to DH were severely disappointed by HOI3. TBH, the game lacks "depth". It is highly eurocentric and basically ignores the rest of the world. The supply system is still screwy as hades. Even playing Germany, I have units in "poor supply" inside core Germany during the invasion of Poland. All core areas of Germany were built up to 100% infra. It was June, so you can't blame the weather. The supply system just plain sucks and needs to be scrapped and redone from scratch. The only really good thing about HOI3(imo) is the map, and DH has a map almost as good.
ETA: That is not entirely true. I also like the freeform divisional design feature. DH is going to have that too though.

it was on twcenter i think, i searched on google trying to find information about Darkest Hour because it had a really good price on Amazon so i was going to buy it - i can't seem to find it that's why i posted it on here i was hoping someone on here knew more about it... i tried to do another search this time using bing and google and i can't seem to find anything more about it which leads me to believe it was maybe not true? perhaps that's why it was removed? i hope it was true though because i thought it was a really nice idea...
however, the more i have learned about DH I really don't think that would be possible as the games use two different engines...

Thank you for your answers, good sirs. Its a pity we cant get even the least bit of information. But considering that the closed beta is on, i can assume, the open beta will be up in a couple of weeks.
HoI 3 with FTM is surely a lot better then HoI2...

The only time I get serious supply problems is when I get involved in a land war in Asia. Someone said something about that, didn't they?
That said, I'm hoping that 3.06 solves some of the troubles with, for example, Japan shipping ALL it's supplies to China. In the meantime, I'll play Vicky2. Or EU3 Or (tomorrow) Warlock: MotA. Or... well, let's face it, no need to hang about waiting!
