Frustrated with the German AI

Playing as Nationalist Spain. I've been spending the entire war babysitting mainland Europe and the Mediterranean Sea so that Germany can steamroll Russia in peace, however they're now just mothballing the southern part of the front and not attacking for the past couple years. I'm sitting here with speed 5 waiting for Russia to finally capitulate so we can invade the UK but Germany won't move forward, despite Russia only having about 50 divisions left. I even had to drive a tank division all the way across Europe to take Moscow because German AI was avoiding it like the plague and actually just went around it. The only mods I'm using is "No Man's Land" and "More Loading Screens", so nothing that changes AI. I did try getting the Full AI Overhaul mod in the middle of the playthrough to see if it would fix Germany but unfortunately it did not.

I could send my troops over there to do it for them but I'm busy playing Whack-A-Mole with naval invasions while keeping the allies at bay in Africa.

It seems like the Union is nearly capitulated, why don't you try to occupy some more land? Or use console command - tag GER - create a new army with the whole front - draw an order and execute, I hope that helps.

Not really, since the AI just deletes it once you go back to Spain.

I will agree on the idea that the German AI is very lackluster. If you play as SOV, then the Germans will usually have much fewer divisions and be spread out around the world and react poorly. That and lategame lag makes SOV SP a hard boiled egg for me.

Why dont you activate the button in the bottom right corner to see your allie's battleplans? You might see where the problem is.

Display AI Battleplans turned on, looks fine to me.

This is a very long front. AI usually prioritizes to fill up the frontline first and thinking about a general offensive only after that. Probably the Germans have some holes in the front and so they are stalled. It might be strange but for this reason the AI generally performs much better at narrow fronts than at wide ones.

I feel the same. The German AI seems broken. I have been playing Sweden about in the same fashion as you play Spain. I conquered Norway and drove Russia out of Finland to see if Germany could beat Russia. And while I was at it I pushed ahead a bit into Russia. When I looked at Germany they had failed so miserably, they had some forces i like Mongolia and Afghanistan, but was about to loose Poland and UK was a long way into France. Another funny detail was that strongest Axis force next to Sweden in Europe was Venezuela! What???
