This game is frustrating as it has no manual or any real directions. Wasting hours of time seems to have enabled me to learn the basics but I still cannot do this:

Rome's first mission is to conquer that little nation to the south. Magna something.

I have destroyed all it's armies and their allies. Assualted each territory to but at the end I can only take over 2 of the 4 territories. 1 from each country.

How do I wipe out another country? How do I complete this first mission?

Also where is the manual online so I can learn the basics without wasting 20 more hours?

Welcome to the forums :)

If you bought Rome Gold in a box, the manual should be on the CD in .PDF format. If you got it from a digital distributor like Gamersgate, then you'll be able to get it from them. It was designed for the original game (ie without the Vae Victis expansion, which comes as part of Rome Gold) so you'll need to compliment this knowledge with the Vae Victis manual as well. Another good place to start would be the RomeWiki which should help you get started.

As to your question, assuming you're running patch 2.2 or later, you can annex countries with two or fewer provinces. Click on one of their (now occupied) provinces, select "Sue for Peace" and choose "Annex".

If you aren't using the 2.2 or later patch, then you'll have to just settle for one province from them for the moment, and later declare war on them again to annex their last province.

General rule of thumb for most Paradox games is to always get the latest patch :)

IMHO there are far too many stickied threads already, I doubt most people read even half of them...

But you're right, that information should be made more obvious.
