Frontage confuses me a little bit. Traits like Massed Tactic obviously give a +10% army frontage (shown in red letters indicating negative stats). Now, Ideas like "Divisional Structure" which decreases Army Frontage by 15%, but traits easily nulifies this bonus. At first I just thought that it was a negative trait, but the name of the third level "Superior Tactician" suggests otherwise.
This to me feels like something that ain't WAD. Superior Tactician only gives a +15% army frontage flat (no -attack/-defence modifiers). Only explanation to me would be that in smaller armies or in general while fighting in areas where your units have plenty of space, say for example 15k fighting in plains, +15% frontage means you will be able to both inflict and sustain more casualties since they can bring more guns/swords/cannons to the front lines then an army of 15k that has no or negative % modifiers to frontage. And in that case, -% modifiers for frontage would only really benefit those giant doomstacks where space actually is limited or while fighting in more confined terrain.
