The effect of trust needs to be made stronger and more transparent. Countries should never rival you if it's 80+, etc. It's on my todo for 1.15.

Good to hear. What about the insanely high opinion penalties to random low-development border provinces and the like, that the AI will often break alliance over? I would like confirmation one way or another as to whether that's WAD.

Usually this comes from a mission. It's a bit of a separate problem with no good solution yet, because the AI *is* supposed to want to carry out its missions.
