One of the sons of Ptolomei was like 28 loyalty or something, and he had 2300 gold. Yet, no succession crisis was strated, when according to the dev diary, he should've used that money to build a MASSIVE army. I was disappointed because I was hoping to see a succession crisis play out :(

Is this a bug from work in progress or intended? @Johan

Yes he should have used his Money to build an army from what I have read but he did not so I would think the mechanic was not working like it is intended to work.
At the time of succession, if any of the possible successors that did not gain the throne are at less than 33% loyalty, they will make their displeasure known by assembling an army of as many loyal troops as they can afford.

On a stream Johan said something about it being broken, he was suprised himself that civil war didn't break out.
This is wrong because that is not how civil war works. Civil wars have rather high requirements Please read the DD about how civil wars work, https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...lopment-diary-19-1st-of-october-2018.1121790/

Succession crisis was averted, as the pretender status was checked AFTER ptolemy died.. ie, he's no longer a pretender. will be fixed tomorrow .)

Ah, a silly bug. Thanks a lot as always for taking the time to reply to our concerns! ;)

PS: Like your idea of concentrating all the pop ups info in just one pop up.

I know how they work. I meant succesion crisis just called it civil war which is indeed a separate thing but close enough.
They are two different things. Succesion crisis is when a pretender create his own army which may lead to a civil war because you will have a disloyal commander with Control of a number of cohorts but if you are below the civil war limit you wont get any progress towards civil war.

This mean you should work on getting rid of the pretender armies as they will push you towards a civil war but they wont start one if they are too weak.

At the time of succession, if any of the possible successors that did not gain the throne are at less than 33% loyalty, they will make their displeasure known by assembling an army of as many loyal troops as they can afford.
As this is a loyal army, and they are disloyal, you will be unable to give orders to this army and unable to detach the pretenders from it. The presence of these armies is likely to drive the country towards a civil war, either immediately or in the long run.
To the end of disarming this threat you have special character interactions no pretenders:
  • Encourage Deserters: Allows you to reduce the pretender army size.
  • Make Mercenary: For a very large sum of gold you can send a pretender off to be a Mercenary, along with their loyal troops. This will eliminate the threat to you internal stability, for now.
Meanwhile foreign countries will have also have a new character interaction available, to spend money and military power on increasing the size of the Pretender army.

I followed every dd, every tweet, every stream, every bit of information about Imperator. I know perfectly well how things work and you don't need to lecture me just becouse i misspelled succesion crisis for civil war. Considering the contex it should be obvious that I meant Succesion crisis which anyway in most cases will most likely result in civil war.

I admitted that I called it wrong and that they are separate things so I am suprised that you still feel a need to repeat what I said and continue to correct me over something so petty.
