From the Shadows: A BICE Columbia AAR

Hi me again, I start another AAR and this time I going to play Columbia with the Black Ice mod. This will be narrative from the eyes of Rojas Pinilla, all is happening in the commando room of General Staff in Bogotá. My English isn't great so there will be grammatical errors. Let's get started!

Hi, my name is Rojas Pinilla. I am commander of the Bogotá HQ. I was born on 12 March 1900, and I was very surprised when I was promoted to Field Marchall last year. I am in the army from 1920, and I will guide you trough to the commando room. Let's get started.

First, we have our President, Alfonso López Pumarojo, he is President for 2 years now, and he is the 19th President of Columbia. He was born in 1886. Our destroyers can't be moved unless he gives the order, of course at the displeasure of the Chief of the Navy, Luis Acevedo. Luis is also Chief of Staff, and he is the guy who promoted me, Normally he was theater commander, but he wasn't able of combining those jobs.

Then we got the chief of the Air force, a strange position in our nation. Our military Air force exists out of 15 old WWI planes, wich are divided between the divisions, There is in fact no single wing official in our Nation. The last guy I will be describing is the chief of the Army, Eduardo Escolar. He is a bit of a strange guy, but with brilliant idea's. However, nobody is listening to his theories about Mobile warfare. He want's to use Mobile units like light trucks and jeeps for defence too. Now we have everything i think, Oh wait, here is a picture of our Commando table:

The picture of that soldiers, that is the state of our army, I will post an detailed report tomorrow.

As a minor thing, the South American nation is spelled "Colombia"; Columbia is something a little different. (It's the "C" in Washington D.C., British Columbia, etc.)

oh, but I see different things everywhere, When I was searching for a map of SA I found it spelled Columbia, on some Colombia, no idea what it is now

In Czech, we spell it "Kolumbie". That kind of spins the things around

Hi, it's me again, we have an Important meeting planned today. In this meeting the focusses for the next year will be decided, as well the research and production programs, let's get started.
"Welcome everybody, you know this meeting is important, this is what the programm is for today:
- National Focus
- Espionage focus
- Research Programm
- Production Programm
- research focus" said Alfonso López Pumarojo, "first, we will discuss the National Focus, we have several options, like Army, Navy, Airforce, Research and some others". "Well", said Luis Acevedo, "I think navy is important this year, we need some more ships if we want to challenge any other powers in our region". This plan was aproved by the most ministers, exept the one from the Airforce. "Then we got Espionage, what will be our focus in that?", Asked Alfonso. "Of course reducing neutrality", was my answerr. everybody agreed with that. Next topic was Research. The Majorty of Our research was pumped into Infantry and artillery techs, as well destroyers. "Now we need to discuss the army", I said, "It is in a terrible state, we have only 4 regular brigades and 2 HQ!" "Agreed", said Eduardo Escolar," We will need to expand our army to 4 infantry and 1 cavalry division, each existing out of 3 Brigades". "Rojas, can you give me the papers of our forces please?" asked Luis. "Of course", I said.

You can see the research plans too, the photo is a prototype of a Motorcycle for military purposes

"I suggest we said up a production of 3 reserve infantry division, each of 2 infantry brigades, a Cavalry Recon unit will be created for our Cavalry division, and 1 Naval flotilla of 5 Destroyers". "ok, and after that we will go for support brigades of AT/ART/AA and Interceptor wing", was my answerr. This was fine for everyone, and the plan was approved. "Now we have a few other things to discuss", said Alfonso, "This are desicions for the Army, Navy and Air force leaders, I let you decide alone, first, we have Naval Mines" "We will use it", said Luis. "Then AFV armor, Escolar, what's you decision?" "We will use casted Armor", said Escolar. "Fine, and now for the Air force, what will be our protection for planes?" "Light Armor protection, we doesn't have the abilities for heavy" "I have a last question for you, Rojas, Will we use body armor?", asked Alfonso to me. "Of course", I answered. "Fine, then the meeting is closed"

Emergency was held in August, About the Sapinish civil war. "Thanks to come so quikly, there is news from Europe, a full blow war have started in Spain! Rojas, can you give map please?", said Alfonso.

"What do you now about the war Rojas? I see you did some research?" "Indeed", I answered, " A force of Fascist rebels has tried to coup the democratic left government, it resulted in a Civil War. The fascists are supported by Italy and Germany, both sended men, tanks and Airplanes. The republicans are supported By the Soviet union and Mexico. The Nationalists are performing massive bombardments from the air on dense populated ereas, resulting in massive casualties". "Can we do something?", asked Luis. "Yes, we can send medicals supplies and evacuate children to Mexico" "I will send the warships out to Mexico, They will be under Mexican control for evacuations." "Fine, then is the meeting closed", said Alfonso.

The 1st and 2nd screenshot is the same Improving your vocabulary and grammar helps a lot (you've every second word starting with a capital letter, dammit! ).

Seriously, if you want to write narrative, you have to point out every single detail in it. I don't know why someone taught it would be a good idea to start the first narrative AAR (and why almost the whole AARland is torturing me with it ), but he surely wanted to follow this rule. I'll give you an example (though I'm sure Marshall will use it against me somehow, like he did with the first one):



Stomping had stopped right before the entry into the room and the door flew open. And now she realized; it was her disjointed, heavy breath that revealed her presence. "What am I going to do!?", she taught. She lost all her faith and hope. The moment seemed to last for a whole eternity.

Her life has rewinded; she sees her chilhood, her dog - Rex, she recieved as a present to her 10th birthday. Then she recognized; her friend Dylan as they were on the secondary school. She never taught that they'll become more than friends, but, afterall, it was her who trapped him in the web of love. Oh, those endless nights with him! Rapidly severed by the reflection of seeing Dylan in the morgue. 21st October 1985; she can still remember the date when her dream of life has collapsed. "Car crash.", said the police officer. Convenient; as an excuse for a plot. And now, two months later her search brought her here. The tape has ended...

One stab in the heart. She falls down on the rock bottom. But for this time, forever. Twenty years of colorful life have ended and now they are replaced by a thousand-years darkness. She dies young, but regrets nothing. She had already tasted all the fruit that mother Earth can offer.

Two days later, detectives found her body. Briber cleaner hid the body away from the police long enough to give the grey eminence time to leave the city. No fingerprints, no witnesses. A perfect double-kill. But why had it came to all of this?
