19th November 1837 – 26th July 1838

Little note: The game was patched to 1.03c

The Italian armies crossed the border the same day of the declaration of war against the German states.

424b232c.jpg

The constant advance of the armies continued for the first month of operations…

f16fe1b0.jpg

The troops from Rimini landed in Udine, taking the mountains behind the front lines. The main armies continued their near-unstoppable advance. At 19th January 1838, after two months of war, the offensive was deep inside Austrian border:

3d840d6e.jpg

Finally some kind of opposition against the offensive was met: the Austrian navy set sails to the northern Adriatic and was intercepted by the Italian frigates. The freighted Austrian forces regrouped at the mountain strongholds in the province of Klagenfurt. But the Italian troops advances trough the deep leaks in the Germans defence lines. The fake assault of the colonel Kapecki in Klagenfurt covered the Bersalieri corps the take the key province of Lienz, waiting for reinforcement from Treviso:

The Austrian front is crumbling… After 3 months of war, the 19th February 1838, everything is going well:

87ace2ee.jpg

Minor forces from the other German states were spotted manoeuvring inside Austrian borders. The Austrian navy was routed and sent back to the port of Pola. Our frigates were dispatched to the Ligurian Sea to protect the coast against a possible German landing The Austrian divisions reached Lienz too late and found Italians troops well prepared to defend the forest-and-mountains province. No one is offering a decent defence against the armies in Udine and Bozen. The offensive continues, but something concern the Italian HQ: the little concentration of troops on the mountains provinces is enough to slow down the operations of the following months. The strategic core of the Italian offensive is the quick occupation of Wien and a peace treaty with the superpower. Clouds are gathering around the bright Italian star…
The 19th of march the fears of an incoming defeat raised a revolt in Parma. The new colonial divisions were sent to quell the revolts in Tunis:

image012.jpg

As predicted the Italian fleet intercepted a Prussian transport convoy in the ligurian sea and sunk it:

image014.jpg

On the Austrian front the fourth month of war was a static one:

image016.jpg

The Austrian forces in Lienz continued to resist, but the two important offensives in Ljubljana and in Zell am See will see their results only in the following months:

image018.jpg

The strong defence line on the alps was broken! The road to the Wien is clear!

image020.jpg

It’s the time for the final strike against the hated enemy. The mobilized troops were deployed in Maribor in the first days of May. The 14th June, four days before the end of the 7th month of war, the first army corps engaged enemy troops and started the siege of Wien:

image022.jpg

Wien was conquered the 18th July:

image024.jpg

Fearing a massive assault on the surrounded troops in Klagengfurt, defeated and humiliated, the 26th July 1838 Austria signed a peace treaty with Italy. Austria will secede all the provinces claimed by Italy and become a satellite of Italy:

image026.jpg

Finally all the Italian provinces are united under one crown, but the war against the Germans continues and the Italian troops move against Bavaria… The rage and the fury of avenge will bring havoc against all the Germans.

Not taking Fiume I see? To be a jerk I would just take every single Austrian province with an Italian in it! That'll teach 'em who's boss! :D

Satellitization is a way to calm down your opponent to fulfil the destruction later.

and to think it took me from 1836 to 1912 to get 957 provinces, and the possibility to create about 90 satellite countries (i'm still playin' it,no cheats),
you have got real strategy. Good job.
Can anyone tell me how many provinces there are in the game

26th November 1837 – 16th January 1839

Following the fall of Austria, the entire Italian army moved to the borders with Bavaria. The situation was simple: Bavaria have a mighty army. The fall of Bavaria will assure a clear victory against the Germans minors and Prussia. Now the strategic position have a clear advantage: our troops can move into the Austrian territory and strike everywhere, but with the help of Austrian buffer zone, no more Italian border is danger of a land invasion. Checkmate!

90388803.jpg

The border this Bavaria was crossed at the middle of September, while the main Bavarian army was blocked on the Alps:

f4db2b7b.jpg

Small resistance was met against the Germans troops trapped inside Austria, but the invasion of Bavaria continued. The 19th October 1838, while fierce fights were engaged in all Bavarians provinces, Italy complete the first steps to industrialization:

7aba8a1e.jpg

The first days of November the main Italian army corps and the Bavarian mobilized army met on the Augsburg province:

7d7aed0d.jpg

The small detachment coming from the south was the royal guard. The King Carlo Alberto come to personally lead the bloodiest battle of the conflict. The battle of Augsburg was fought for nearly two months, till the inexorable outcome: VICTORY!

2eeca6b2.jpg

Bavaria was made satellite the 16th January 1839 and forced to pay war indemnities. One more step to the punishment of the Germans was made.
At this point the Italian economy is falling apart… The national debt reached 161400 £, badboy still at 33.58, War exhaustion at 33,5% and an ever-growing revolt risk at home, but the end of the war is near…

And now some statistics: Italy enemy and allies, scores of Italy and army comparison after the fall of Bavaria:
